Mine must be mint on fuel then because using Optimax £20 a week gets me between 180-220 miles depending if i cain it to work every day or take it easy, (earlies or lates) :D

definetly recommend trying optimax,

Although it does have a shelf life of about 2 weeks so needs to be used within this ...

Carnt remember how to reset it off top of my head but it tells you in your manual thats how i found out, its dead easy to do. :P

SIDE LIGHT BULBS

Allright guys after a bit of info regarding how to get the side light bulbs out of the GTi head lamp unit. carnt see any easy ways with out causing damage to the hole light yet, any info or pics would be great :D

removing the airbox

HI

Firstly you will need to remove the 4 allen bolts you can see then lift off the engine cover,

once this is out of the way you will be able to see what you are doing, remove the 2 screws securing the cold air feed and pull this free.

there is now 2 options either undo the 7 screws around the ...

Not sure if they are exspensive as this is the first place i have found that sells them??

I am gunna have to stick up for VW here i phoned about the recall and they said yes fine we carry the parts in stock so when would you like it to be done? i took it in 3 days later at 9 and had it back by three washed and valeted

Might be a little late

Hi Guys,
I have only had my GTi just over a week and from reading posts before i picked the car up regarding the pedal box situation, i though i would act on it before it caused me any problems as the car is luckily still under warranty.

Its now going into VW tomorrow and they have seemed helpfull ...

looks good mate thinking off getting one of them, are you going to put the engine cover back on? or can you?

i had a similar set up on my old mk4 golf the only problem was it spitting oil out of the breather especially if you are doing motorway driving, i also had a problem with condensation and ...

There is a set of four on ebay at the moment, they have met their reserve at £50, perhaps you could buy these if they are at the right price then sell the other three on again.

Cheers for the reply i will try awesome gti when the car needs servicing and planned mods buying!!

The car is silver and on a 51 plate
payed quite alot at £7850 but its only done 20k miles and still under manufactures warrenty for 2 months, :D

Hi guys
could any one please tell me if they know of any specialists for servicing etc in the Cheshire area?

Also ive read on the site about the problems with the pedal box and that the cars are being recalled, how can you tell if the work has already been carried out?

i get the car on Sunday ...
