Hi Mutley1,
The car is now up and running. In the end, although I had worked out most of the wiring for myself, I decided to make enquiries among auto-electricians as to costs and eventually manage to get one who re-wired it in his lunch-break for £20.
Thanks for your advice
Don

Ignition Switch Plug Wiring for Polo Coupe L Reg
Does anyone have a diagram which shows which colour wire goes where on the rear of the plug which connects to the ignition switch, please?
I have read the appropriate Haynes Manual and although this gives colours and corresponding numbers, I cannot see numbers marked on the plug !!!

Please help - Polo Coupe Vandalised
HI,
I wonder if any one can help, please?
I live in Scotland and returned from holiday recently to find that my car had been vandalised. The car is a Polo Coupe 1992 model.
To summarise:
1. The vandals gained access by using a screwdriver on the near side door lock, hence new lock needed.

MkIII Thermostat
My temperature guage sits permamnently at about 70 when the engine is warmed up, is this normal. I understand the thermostat should start to open about 83 and be fully open at 113.
Is the temp normal, is there something wrong, I thought normal guage temp was around 90. Do I need to replasce my ...

Thanks Spikey, to date nobody has been looking at me and after the MoT one of the garage mechanics took the car for a spin after sorting the gear selectors (which one of his mates had messed up) but he didn't make any comment about the wheel bearings so I suppose it (they) can't be that bad - or ...
