Becker with VW Cd changer

Hi - I am thinking of buying a Becker Mexico Pro for my VW Passat 2002 model.

I currently have the VW Gamma and a VW in-dash 6 CD changer.

Can I keep my in-dash changer and use some type of adapter to use with the Becker. And if so, how much might the adapter cost ?

Thanks

You can get the tachorings from www.milotec.de.

I can send you some fitting instructions if you need them. The Skoda Fabia chaps tend to go for these.

Hi jrw ....

Yep, I'm addicted to the VAG forums i'm afraid ....

Started when I had my Toledo (seatcupra.net)
Then went to uk-mk1V when I got the VW Polo
Then found uk-polos
Also frequent the briskoda forums
... and also tdiclub.com which is great for TDi geeks (like me)

Its interesting to see the ...

Wai Mak .....

OK- you are really setting the standards here with your Polo. Your car really does look superb.

I'd like to copy a couple of ideas (if you dont mind !) :

- The chrome door handles
- The silver strip along the bottom of the hatch lid

Where did you get these from; are they a perfect ...

If you look at how the survey weighting was done, it is as follows:

Reliability (20%)
Build quality (25%)
The driving experience (21%)
Ownership costs (13%)
Customer care (21%)

ie - reliability is only 20% of the story. I assume the factor which kills the Polo (and does so well for the Fabia ...

If its a short single beep (and the service spanner is showing in the 'miles' part of the display) then it is the reminder beep for servicing. It can be reset quite easly (did mine today) as described in you VW handbook.

If its several beeps then its something else - and it may be serious - hence ...

I really want something cheap and VERY easy to wire up. I've seen plenty of these on ebay for £60 (they retail at £90 though).

If anyone has any other easy/cheap/low-space options please do ...

Blaupunkt Active Sub for Gamma

Has anyone fitted one of these subs. They seem to be available brand new on ebay for about £60.

Seems like a cheap way to add a bit of bass.

How easy is it to fit and does it improve the bass (which is quite poor on the Polo).

Thanks for these words of encouragement - I must admit the uk-polo site can be a bit gloom and doom. The majority of seatcupra.net people seem to enthuse (rant and rave) about their Seats and live with the niggly problems.

My view is that if you want ultra-reliable, buy Japanese - but most ...

I'm reading all this uk-polo stuff with some trepidation nowadays.

I sold my Toledo after one year of ownership - no problems whatsoever and only changed because a) wanted something newer b) wanted something more economical and c) wanted to 'move up' to a VW.

I hope that i made the right decision ...

I'll put some pics up at the weekend. Its the Rosewood Red (ahem ... purple ....) colour in 5 door. Not sure if I like the colour but the car is in such short supply that I thought what the hell and went for it. Its different anyway.

Yes, i am finding it different to drive. With petrol, usually for ...

Yeah its weird on the motorway. Yesterday I was doing about 70 and decided to overtake a car - it just accelerated so smoothly and quickly to 90 it was unreal - could become use to it.

It is definitely a very different drive to a petrol once the torque has kicked in (lack of 1st and 2nd will take ...

New member .... just bought a 1.9 TDi Sport

Hi - just got a 52 reg 1.9 TDi Sport this afternoon.

Had a Seat Toledo 1.8 20v for a year and was wanting to switch to a diesel (for economy). Have been watching this site behind the scenes for a few days and must say I was a little concerned about the 'quality' issues with the 9N.

However, the ...
