Re: 1.4 tdi polo air filter replace
That’s great, it feels good when you solve a problem that had been bugging you. The Polo will be pleased too!

Re: Racechip tuning box - Yay or nay? BlueGT 6c 2014
I’ve used Racechip on other cars but not my BGT. The boxes always did exactly what was claimed and produced substantial gains both on the road and on the dyno. The company were very helpful and easy to deal with. Unless there has been a radical change within the company structure I would doubt that ...

Re: 1.8tsi dsg
It’s probably the electronic diff (XDS) having a funny half hour. Could be a sensor problem, uneven tyre wear or wildly different tyre pressures across the front “axle”. The system used the cars brakes, does the car pull up in a straight line? If it doesn’t you might have a calliper or brake pad pro...

Re: Charging battery?
We could form a club! First implant 2002, a pioneering bi-vent, now on number five. I’ve asked for a zip but They insist on sewing me up each time. My charger is on its third car and still does the biz. With all the electrical bits that play amongst themselves when you put the car to bed you’d think...

Re: Charging battery?
I just pip you there Wolfie, 27years. I’ve got a bi ventricular ICD. It’s working well but I’m currently suffering from chronic atrial tachycardia which totally overwhelms the normal low voltage pacing so I’m back to full heart failure symptoms. I’m waiting to be admitted for some tricksy surgery, w...

Non serviceable item.
A new one is a lot cheaper than your life or plastic surgery to restore your good looks.

And if it’s stolen, damaged and recovered are you happy not to get any insurance payout because your insurance is invalid?

Re: Clutch slipping 6C GTI
Given that you’ve covered more than 38,000 miles I would be amazed if any garage would accept that as anything other than normal wear. I’m not doubting your word but It would be impossible for you to prove to the garage that your driving style is clutch friendly. I don’t know where the figure of 100...

Re: GTi or BlueGT?
“ Admiral would be £1086 in the boxster, or £1290 in the GTi“. At last, something tangibly good about being an old git! I was quoted £345 fully comp on a 2.7 Caymen, it’s a shame that once it’s in my garage I can’t get in or out so the Polo stays. I did think about a Caterham but my wife was having ...

Re: GTi or BlueGT?
I’ve been with LV and their predecessor since 1964 and my NCB dates back to then.
When I bought my BGT their quote for the GTi was around 50% higher than that for the BGT. That’s a difference of around £100 a year.
Seems odd that a company would go in the other direction.

Re: GTi or BlueGT?
Hi Gee. I suggest you wouldn’t be able to tell the difference, you suggest you’d struggle to detect a one second difference, it looks as though really we are on the same page. I’m talking about my personal perception of the reality of road driving rather than bragging rights, I’m sure you are doing ...
