Re: New GTI

Fitted the steel wheels and winter tyres to the wife's GTI this afternoon. There is not much room between the front callipers and the rim even with the correct 40ET offset so beware of this with any other rim offset.
I'll try and put up a picture later.

So where's the snow?

Re: New GTI

Guys I think I know the answer to this one but I want to check. Been offered winters wheels for £100 from a friend, awesome price I'm sure you will agree, the are brand new, she had them on her polo for a month. The are on VW 14" steelies, these ain't gonna fit over the GTI brakes are they?

Press the "car" button.y
On the bottom right of the screen press the adjustments/settings.
Its the sixth item that appears on the screen - door lock/unlock.

Re: New GTI

Anyone managed to set up auto locking / anti hijack on the car or is this just doable through a vcds change?

You can change it in the Radio settings, with the ignition key on. :)

Have you actually done this, I ask because I've been through the settings and couldn't find an option for this ...

Re: New GTI

Update.
Took the car in yesterday and waited for it....
Technician went out in the car to test, then into workshop, then back out on road, then back into workshop. Service advisor then came and told me it was a stone lodged between the disc rotar and cover. Technician back out in car, back into ...

Re: New GTI

Wife picked the GTi up yesterday,...
It's going back tomorrow, car has now covered 60 miles and there is a very load squeak from the front driver side wheel. I've gave the car a visual check over and can't see anything obvious so think perhaps the wheel bearing. It's annoying that they never picked ...

Re: New GTI

Anyone thought of winter tyres for their Gti?
Really rate them and not only does it keep your summer alloys good you get the benefit of not having to replace the summer tyres so often. Think I be purchasing a set of tyres/wheels for the wifes Gti in the next couple of months.

Anyone already with a ...

Re: New GTI

Evo didn't half rip it to bits, iirc only the interior got pass marks. Strange really as everyone else had a positive review on it.
