Re: Turbo bearing failure
Thanks. It looks as if I have just been unlucky but maybe there was an issues with some models of around 2015. Unfortunately, when you don't use the car a lot there is a risk that problems will occur on low mileage but outside the warranty in terms of years. I am having it re-built so that we will c...

Turbo bearing failure
Hi there, I have a 2015 Polo GTi. I have had the car from new and it has never been driven hard although mainly around town driving. It has covered just over 10,000 miles. Having experienced a strange noise on acceleration, my local garage have diagnosed worn turbo bearings. That in itself is costly...

Re: Strange noise on accelleration
Yeah, I guess so. Just thought that I would ask. The more you know when you take a car to the garage, the less you get ripped off

Re: Strange noise on accelleration
Anyone have an ideas? I cannot hear the noise when I am stationary and rev the engine. Does that point to a problem in the transmission? The noise sounds a bit like air being sucked in. Is that possible? I know little about the mechanical side of cars and don't want to be completely ignorant when I ...

Strange noise on accelleration
Hi to all you mechanical geniuses out there Recently, I've been hearing a strange noise on acceleration. The harder I accelerate, the louder the noise. Difficult to describe the sound. When driving I don't think I can hear it but sometimes I think that I can hear a soft sound, Maybe I am listening t...

App Connect only works with Google Maps?
I have App Connect on my December 2017 GTi and it works with Google Maps but will not recognise TomTom Go. Does the system only work with Google Maps?

Re: Do I really need this?
Thank you all for your advice. I will have the brake fluid changed next week but I think that I will switch back to my pre VW local garage rather than the main dealer.
By the way, it passed the MOT so they obviously didn't think that the brake fluid issue was serious enough to fail it.

May I suggest joining and supporting The Alliance of British Drivers who campaign for a more balanced and sensible view to speed limits and other road safety matters

Do I really need this?
My car is a Polo GTi DSG that is 3 years old and has covered 6,400 miles. My VW main dealer has just completed the MOT and a complimentary health check. They said that despite the low mileage, an aircon service is due and the brake fluid should be changed. Of course they had plenty of technical reas...

Re: Coin stuck in my armrest
I have tried everything but it just will not come out. Looks as if I will have to take it into the main dealer. It may cost me a new armrest though

Coin stuck in my armrest
I made the mistake of keeping coins in the armrest of my 2015 Polo 6C and now a 20 pence coin is stuck in the hinge. I cannot remove it with the lid in place so will have to remove it. Are there screws under the hinge cover? I do not have a mirror small enough to be able to see. Not sure how to atta...

Re: Taking delivery of a new Polo GTI
I think that MczZippy is correct. It is normal. I signed the finance documents online. Due to the distance from Listers Nuneaton to Essex, they delivered on a transporter free of charge and I checked the car and then signed the collection document

Re: Sunstrip Stickers anyone ?.
I live in the UK and my eyes are very sensitive to the sun. I have problems even wearing sunglasses so I would certainly by a plain sunstrip if I could get one
