Re: coolant level, does it need a top up ?

Not sure you can assume it’ll be topped up; the dealer I used for all my VW’s didn’t top up the air in my tyres and I got short measure on the engine oil (that’s assuming they even bothered to change the oil! 😠) when my Polo GTI+ was serviced last year (see below). I’d be sure to mention your car’s ...

Re: Should I get my DSG serviced early?

It won’t do any harm - being proactive rather than reactive is my preference as far as car maintenance is concerned. There are Golf GTI owners on the Golf forums with the 6 speed DQ250 DSG who’ve had theirs serviced at the sooner of 40k miles or 4 years, even though VW’s official service interval is...

Re: I’m no longer a VW owner! 😮

Good to hear as that’s how easy car ownership SHOULD be and how VW were once. Agree 100% on both points; i.e. on how it should be and how VW used to be (but sadly aren’t now ☹️). The dealer I bought my Clio from and I’m using for after sales work has been Renault’s dealer of the year multiple times...

Re: I’m no longer a VW owner! 😮

l @SRGTD how did Renault perform? @lancslad1985; Assume you’re referring to the Renault dealership and my experience of dealing with the after sales team in getting my erratic indicators fixed, and whether the software update actually did fix the issue. My car was the first at the dealership to get ...

That’s what I thought. Thanks for confirming it 👍.

Re: Any one ordered the new facelift GTI?

At least 2 ships have departed from Port Elizabeth and arrived in Emden since my GTI was produced, but my salesperson is very reluctant to give me any specific info, besides "there's a good chance for collection this month". I assume it means that it's arrived in Emden, but I wasn't given...

Re: New edition 25 polo gti

Hi all, I have another quick question for anyone else that's been lucky enough to get their Edition 25. Have you been able to switch on the front and rear fog lamps independently of each other? e.g. one pull front fogs only, second position front and rear. Not sure if I'm doing something wrong but ...

Re: I’m no longer a VW owner! 😮

One thing I’ve not got used to yet is arriving at destination in complete silence; I’ve found that on the majority of my journeys, the car is running in EV mode at the end of the journey, so there’s no engine sound to act as a prompt to cut the power and switch off. I had similar issue when first g...

Re: New edition 25 polo gti

Latest on mine after 13 months is Status 38 at Emden, dealer reckons about 3 weeks! A little off topic, but on the subject of deliveries of vehicles from port to the UK, I read on the Golf GTI forum a suggestion that fossil fuelled cars may be held at port and EV’s given priority so VW can hit the ...

Re: I’m no longer a VW owner! 😮

Quick update on life with the Clio after three weeks’ ownership. Not much to report, which IMHO is a good thing. Fuel consumption; manually calculated after filling the tank today. The car’s fuel computer is showing the long term mpg as 62.5. I calculated it manually and it was 60.8 mpg, so the car’...

Re: Polo 2022 - when auto is switched for wipers it makes a noise

The windshield wipers on the VW Polo GTI are very noisy, any solution? Presumably you mean the actual wiper blades on the screen while they’re wiping are noisy, rather than the noise being caused by another part of the wiper system (e.g. worn bearing in the wiper motor or noisy wiper linkage). Assu...

Yes it is, and when I was in the local VW dealership recently, I heard the guy in the parts department telling a customer it’s the only one they sell now.

Re: Stone Chipping/Mud Guards

@Kingcoupa; If the stone chipping is minor and on the sills below the black plastic sill extension strip (the part with the dimpled appearance that’s covered with factory applied stone chip protection prior to the body shell being painted), then why not repair them yourself by using a paint touch up...

Re: I’m no longer a VW owner! 😮

Nice feedback on the Clio. Which ceramic do you use on the wheels? I’ve got a sample of Adam’s graphene ceramic from the states and initial tests against its competitors at work have shown it to be quite good, so contemplating putting it on the golf at some point. I used Gtechniq C5 Wheel Armour on...
