Yes, I'm pleased to say that mine is a CHTE iichel :)

Re: Performance Fuel

Oh dear :(
Well, hopefully the VPower is an effective medicine for those issues.

Re: Performance Fuel

Blimey iichel, that's a very learned post - I'm going to have to go to lie down for a while after reading it! :) But thanks very much for providing that info.
My 6R GTI stipulates 98 RON on the label inside the fuel filler cap, so I've stuck to V Power throughout and am currently showing an average ...

Re: At least Dick Turpin wore a mask!!

I like my Polo, It's nice to drive, comfortable, has enough pace for my needs.......
.........I'm thinking of downsizing now due to circumstance, so I'm probably going to be looking at a CitiGo/Mii or Up at some point this year. Cheap and cheerful here I come..
It'd be a real shame ...

Re: At least Dick Turpin wore a mask!!

Yes, I agree with all you say about the theory that a premium price should secure a reliable product Wolfie.
I confess that I bought my GTI without doing sufficient digging on the 'net' to find forums such as this, and was partly influenced in my decision by a vague perception that "VW's are ...

Re: How do I disable DRL

I know how you feel!
I believe it can be done using one of those diagnostic reader jobbies, or you could ask the VW garage to do it.
If it's any consolation, I've had my 6R for 5 months now and I've got used to the DRL's. I've been flashed far less often than I would have expected, even when it's ...

Re: At least Dick Turpin wore a mask!!

Thanks to all for some very interesting posts.
It seems that one conclusion that could be drawn is that most if not all modern cars are likely to have one or more issues, so you might as well plump for a VW as anything else.... (except that the VW dealer network's customer service record is ...

Good luck today Josher - I hope that it turns out to be an easy (and inexpensive) resolution.
And, as a fellow 6R GTI'er, I'm definitely caring :D

I see - perhaps Jackfm will discover something about curing the issue which could be useful for you - hope so.

Re: Doors Rattling

Further to my previous post, if anyone wants to know the identity of my local dealership then if you send me a PM I'll happily disclose it in confidence. But I'd rather not put it on a public board where anyone including non-members could view it. Sorry if this seems over cautious.
I understand ...

Re: DSG making a horrible noise

Thanks again Yab. If it doesn't get any worse, I'll leave it until it gets serviced in October and talk to the VW people then.
Hello Zarfield - is your noise the same as in Jackfm's video clip, or my clunk on changing down from 2nd to 1st?.

Re: DSG making a horrible noise

Thanks Yab and Alex - I don't mind a little clunking (but might become less sanguine about it when my warranty runs out!).
