POLO GTI 6C Brakes Sticking when hot? and EBC Pad upgrade

Hi I have noticed now that when i go for a spirited drive on the road my brakes get hot i can noticeably feel them sticking/ pads rubbing against the disks which scrubs speed of quite quick when i am off throttle and off brakes. This also causes them to go spongy quite quickly (around 5 - 10 minutes...

Re: New car arriving soon - should I polish/clay or just cleanse paint

I was the same as you before I picked mine up thinking I need to get all these products to make is sparkle. All you need is a good wash mitt, 2 buckets and grit guards, snow foam lance and jet wash (tesco's doing a karcher k2 for £48 is a bargain, I have tried 3 different jet washes and took them ba...

Coming/Leaving Home light Function 6C GTI auto lights

Hi Does anyone know how to activate the coming home/ leaving home light function on the 6c gti with auto lights? I have enabled both on the settings menu, when the car lights have been left in auto and I unlock the car at night the headlights turn on but when I lock the car at night time the car lig...

Re: Just ordered a polo gti

I Agree with Joe, sport pack 100% for me otherwise the car feels to soft both suspension wise and steering wise, the car for me is too soft to drive fast in normal mode, you really do benefit from the firmer steering and dampers. Plus depending on your plans for the car i'm sure a car with the sport...

Re: Just ordered a polo gti

I actually like the fake engine noise, makes the car sound more burbly and grumble where the normal engine makes no sound, I doubt anyone would ever know the sound was fake if they were not told before hand, plus the car feels too soft/ wobbly in normal mode driving fast. I have been in many other h...

Re: Turbo

Where is the code on the turbocharger that shows if it's a 701T or a 713J? I have had a look around with my head under the bonnet but I cant seem to find that code on my turbo. Loads of the Golf GTIs had the same problem, also its not helped if people don't let the engine cool down a little after a ...

Re: Just ordered a polo gti

Personally I would recommend getting the sport pack, only £250 or so but its well worth it.

Re: New GTI

Thought i would try 95 octane in my car on sunday to see if it makes a difference as i had just done 2 full tanks of 97 ron fuel in a week and it hurt my wallet. Must say that the £4 difference on a tank is actually minimal and whilst i cant feel any real change in performance ( only done 20 miles o...

Re: Alloygators?

I agree, "wrong way around" parking can cause a whole load of problems. Although prosecutions are as rare as polite BMW drivers few people realise that in very many parts of the country it is still illegal to park against traffic flow on a main road or bus route. Although prevailing traff...

Re: Alloygators?

Maybe you should give Rimblades a check. I used to have them on my old ST when i had black wheels so they were almost invisible but i don't want to ruin the look of my diamond cut wheels so i'm without anything. Rimblades simply use a 3m sticky tape to stick to your rims, if you install them right t...
