You are right in saying that the 16v has 100bhp as standard, think the 8v is 65bhp though. I myself have the 16v and can tell you that 0-60 is pretty quick. The only engine mod I have made is a performance air filter in the OE box (which has made a difference). I think VW probably quoted the 0-60 at ...
