Sounds pretty normal to me. These engines are quite loud due to having a high pressure fuel rail, and itll normally settle down once the oil has warmed a little and the engine is getting up to temperature. They've fixed my rattly a-pillar and trip reset button fine. Just the glovebox, passenger door, b-pillars (which have been replaced already) and nsr trim to figure out next.......

Andy, sounds like you've got a lot of the same rattles as me. I wrote to VW UK following the dealership attempting to fix it at least 4 times and they're taking the matter really seriously. Could be worth getting in contact.

I've got rattles coming from the glovebox/footwell and drivers side a-pillar.. Anyone else? It's been in to Colchester and Ipswich VW and both have heard the rattles, attempted to fix but now say they are as expected from a GTI. Seems like b/s to me. Maybe I'm just being pedantic..
