Re: New tyres 6C GTI
I don't actually mind the Bridgestones - far better than Dunlops that have come on previous VAGs of mine - but when they eventually need replaced I'll go for something different - probably Contis.

Re: How reliable is the Mk5 GTI
I've had mine 13 months now and very pleased with it - go as far as to say it has exceeded my expectations - a great all-rounder and love the torque - I'm a twin-charger fan (despite its, er, foibles) but the EA888 feels much meatier - sweet 6-speed gearbox as well. Not my favourite car from the fai...

Re: New GTI
Does my oil consumption seem excessive? Car serviced at VW - 19,850 Miles (August 17) just checked my oil before heading out on a long journey and it was just below the low notch on the dip stick - currently at 24,808 Miles. No light had came on. Any help would be greatly appreciated! I’ve put 0.5L...

Re: New GTI
I was wondering where Polo GTIs were built / assembled - are they all assembled in Spain or do they use other plants in Europe?Rik762 wrote:Made in Pamplona Spain. Transit time from 2 weeks upward depending on how fast it gets on a ship.

Cheers - I knew I was being too anal .iichel wrote:The 6R and 6C share the same chassis and basic layout. The 6C is a facelifted version of the 6R.
So the 6C can still be sold on the type-approval/homologation of the 6R. That's why it says 6R

V5 Query
I've just had my V5 through from the DVLA - next to D.2 Type it says '6R' - my car is a 6C and although this sounds a bit anal I just want to make sure the V5 is 100% correct in case it creates problems in the future - is '6R' OK?

Re: DSG vs Manual - opinions please!
I love DSG, but the deal available on my Polo (pre-reg with delivery miles) was manual only - have to say I am enjoying being back in a manual (coming from DSG) - as a previous poster pointed out the clutch is just right and it's a sweet gear change. There is no right or wrong answer - although the ...

Re: New GTI
It's a big improvement off the line compared to the vRS, which usually involved the front tyres scrabbling about.

Ta.
Er, stupid question, but I take it I go for the 'raised floor' one?

Re: New GTI
Picked up my 66 plate GTi last Thursday - previously had a MKII Fabia vRS - it was after much deliberation I went for the Polo (it came down to Polo or ST Fiesta) and I have to say it has exceeded my expectations - it's a pleasant place to sit and the 1.8 seems a much meatier affair in comparison t...

Dog Cage
Apologies if this has been done - I have tried the search function but couldn't find anything. I'm looking for a dog cage that'll fit in a GTi boot without having to put the rear seat down - due to the height of the floor the boot is fairly small and I'm struggling - I have a small-ish dog (Cocker S...
