Re: Steering wheel replacement
Im looking to replace my steering wheel as well, but with an aftermarket one. How easy would that be? Just this morning I bought all the parts for my aftermarket steering wheel, as I never use the steering wheel controls and the basic steering wheel is fairly unappealing, coupled with the sky high ...

Re: Exhaust ANYONE?
Depends where you're based but for that kind of money you can almost get a full custom exhaust built to your preference of sound, tips etc. I took mine to Essex for the day and had a full one made up to my liking for less than the cheapest premade aftermarket catback system I could find, fully fitte...

Fitting Coilovers
If anyone around/near Surrey has fitted coilovers on their polo and wants my car for a day, I'll happily pay them to do mine. I don't think I trust myself to do them alone, partly as I've never done suspension before and also because I can't find a Polo specific guide. I was going to get them instal...

Re: 6R 1.2 TSI 105PS 0-60Mph quicker than expected!
I'm not claiming your 0-60 time not to be accurate, but an app that only works off GPS won't be 100%, especially when accelerating quickly, as it works off distance. I bought myself a little £10 OBDII bluetooth adapter type thing off amazon, and connected it to my phone, using 'Torque' (only android...

6R GTI coilovers on non-gti
My good friend is getting new coilovers and so will be selling his old ones. They're extremely good, I've driven with him before and I was very impressed, and he was lower than I like to be. He's willing to give them to me for practically nothing, and considering they're nearly £1000 coilovers its v...

Re: Interior Light Failure
Those are the exact symptoms of a blown fuse. Are you sure you changed Fuse 21 (10A)? Might be worth checking your exterior lighting as well, as often them blow in conjunction with each other, in which case its usually a 15A fuse in 43

That must mean my information is wrong, which if good for you, bad for me! Once you have installed your new CAN gateway let me know and I can guide you through the process.

Re: RNS 310 map update to get postcode
You can update the RNS 310 yourself as long as you're proficient in burning firmware to a CD. Then you just pop it in and it self updates. Depending on your current version, you have to update it one update at a time, and some won't be necessary, depending on your current version. If you long hold t...

Re: Black 6R Progression Thread (pic heavy)
Funnily enough I had been in contact with that seller prior to finding my bumper. They are not genuine, which may or may not be an issue for you, depending on preference. My issue was I needed one with a twin exhaust to the left, and was not prepared to have my exhaust rebuilt again to fit the bumpe...

Re: Black 6R Progression Thread (pic heavy)
Fitting a 6C bumper on a 6R is a simple one, you just need to go to TPS or VW and order parts 6C6 807 393B and 6C6 807 394B . When I got my 6C GTI bumper on, TPS prices were £35.42 for the both of them, so not bad at all. They're brackets for each side, since they changed the fitting of the 6R and 6...

RCD-510 bluetooth issues
So i finally bought a 9w7 bluetooth kit, part number 7P6 035 730 J. It was generally very confusing, with no help from the seller, and a strange harness. All bluetooth functions work except voice activation, which is my problem. I recoded Byte 15 to enable BIt 0, which should enable the PTT button. ...

Re: Wiring Diagram for Headlight Switch
Thank you for all your help, I'm feeling better about doing the wiring, just one more thing. Could you tell me the route you would take from the switch to the engine? I know on autos they can use the spare grommet under the 3rd pedal space, but I have manual. On the other side with my amplifier wiri...
