Re: A Pillar Trim Removal
I know the instructions say from the top, but to me I don't understand why there is an enlarged slot for the first clip. The only way you could release the first clip (via the larger slot) is to slide it up. However, that said, the way the clips are slotted into the mouldings, the only way they woul...

Re: A Pillar Trim Removal
Sorry to resurrect this thread, but thought I would share my experience today. Managed to get passenger side off with brute force OK, but the driver side middle clip mount completely snapped off the a-pillar and the lower clip the plastic lip to the clip holder snapped off.... Looking at the v...

Re: Plug and Play Sound system (Sub and Amp)
You would think, but for sure the tweeters in the pillars are sounding worse now than when I had the stock set up without the Helix amp.

Re: Plug and Play Sound system (Sub and Amp)
Just managed to fit this yesterday. I guess it was one of those once you know how to do it it's easy. However, there was plenty of cursing throughout. Probably the worst bit was getting the trim back on again (once the cable was run to the boot).... Cutting one of the ty-raps on the infotainment loo...

Re: Plug and Play Sound system (Sub and Amp)
https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F322906796467 I bought this set - the little metal keys remove the radio from within the glovebox itself (the MIB is held into a casing within the glovebox). Then you need a terminal tool to push the wires out. As I s...

Re: Plug and Play Sound system (Sub and Amp)
Sorry to revisit this, but just got around to fitting. So do I also need the special tools/keys to pull out the infotainment system (or does it come out when the glove box comes out? Cheers, Mark Yes, the GTI already has the "variable boot floor" fitted. http://www.golfvigti.com/upload/dir...

Re: VW authorised Tuners
I just stumbled across this when on a Q5 forum...
https://www.racechip.co.uk/shop/vw/polo ... 320nm.html
Seems to have a two year warranty too...
Edit: That said, it seems to be a two channel box, whilst the DTUK is four.

Re: Evo* VW Polo GTI 6C DSG 1.8T Stage 1 - AUS
Also intrigued by the retro carplay :) I did wonder about getting the voice control working, but was told it was licensed and there was no coding way around it. Frustrated that when browsing music on a USB stick the +/- and left and right buttons do a track change, rather than being able to browse u...

Re: Evo* VW Polo GTI 6C DSG 1.8T Stage 1 - AUS
Hi there, Would be interested in what is in the OEM+ Stage 1 as there is little info over here. I was looking through their web site yesterday to see what parts would fit the 1.8 GTI (seems some will). Cheers, Mark Check the info here mate. Re: Plug and Play Sound system (Sub and Amp)
Thanks for that. I have a decent set of trim tools now having installed the armrest, but I'd forgotten about needing the terminal tool. I noticed when I first looked at the German page it said that the longer mounting thread and bypass dongle were extra. Did you get/need these?
Cheers,
Mark
