Re: Plug and Play Sound system (Sub and Amp)

Yes, the GTI already has the "variable boot floor" fitted. http://www.golfvigti.com/upload/direct/i_14_10551_0_61_1338141792_1667.jpg https://data.motor-talk.de/data/galleries/0/135/4943/26054805/reserveradmulde-ohne-reserverad-6590868403331492729.jpg I believe it looks like these images ...

Re: Plug and Play Sound system (Sub and Amp)

With the battery housed in the spare wheel well on the GTI, and the spare wheel stored on top of the battery, this raises the height of the stored spare wheel compared to other 6c Polo models. So is there enough space for the Helix plug and play amp to fit between the top of the spare wheel and the...

Re: Plug and Play Sound system (Sub and Amp)

Interesting. I cannot find anything about retrofitting the variable boot floor. Did you order the Helix from eBay?

Re: VW authorised Tuners

I think it will be just a limited warranty the same as other box tuners offer, which for all intents and purposes is mostly meaningless. I would be far more up for the idea if there was a Mountune-esque factory approved tune (having done enough damage in a Subaru to not want to go through that again...

Re: VW authorised Tuners

So is there an ABT warranty in the UK? I see on their web site they list two engine codes for the 1.8 GTI a DAJA & DAJB? One has less torque? Anybody had this ABT upgrade on their GTI?

Re: Plug and Play Sound system (Sub and Amp)

So to clarify, you're going for the round one? The bar is intriguing because I cannot find it now in any accessory brochures... and it is slightly cheaper. Personally I will probably go for the round one, just need to justify the cost and get it done!

Re: Retrofit armrest

Actually I am thinking this is a design feature rather than a floor - with it at that odd angle I can actually change gear OK

Re: Retrofit armrest

Because it has to go all the way down before it can come up? Hmm hadn't thought of that. It just seems so retarded that it would be able to go through more than 90 degrees.....

Re: Retrofit armrest

Thanks for that, its a weight off my mind! I did wonder about putting a bit of rubber or something in the mechanism to act as a stopper.... just seems odd!

Re: Retrofit armrest

I also had console hold-down screws 'apparently missing' on my 66 plate GTI My armrest seated quite firmly onto the alloy mount - no free play. Mine also seems a little odd the way it goes down below horizontal, but a quick small up & down movement locks it at the desired angle. I don't move it...

Re: Retrofit armrest

More or less all fitted today. Couple of points. In my opinion, do not even both trying to get the head unit screen trim off from the top - much easier to use the trim tool from the bottom (as per the remove the head unit posts on YouTube). The heater control trim pulled off without any trim tool. T...

Re: Retrofit armrest

Just learned that the hard way, after taking the gear lever trim off. No visible damage but has scratched underneath. I stopped then... (literally ten minutes ago). The plastic trim tool is too big for the dash surrounds. I was looking at Amazon and this set looks OK? It would be interesting to know...

Re: Retrofit armrest

Mine just turned up yesterday. Hopefully will get some time to fit soon. I've got a big trim puller, and a smaller metal one for slipping into phone cases/screens. Hoping between the two of them will be able to get it all off.

Re: Plug and Play Sound system (Sub and Amp)

Managed to find one that has come out of a Golf Mk7. He said it was in a 2013 model, then later a 2015 model. Reading the earlier comments on this thread it implied that earlier versions of this P/N would not work with the MiB2? Is this correct? If so guess the German eBay one is the only option...

Re: Retrofit armrest

How did it go? Was it the same as the Team BHP thread where you have to remove quite a bit of console to get at it?
