It true that disabling Backup lamp diagnostics is not working in 090D Bcm.

Now remaing option is to give output to the Backup Lamp from T73b/12, like its present in automatic transmissions.

I respect your experience with wiring diagrams. But diagnosing Lamp by input signal given from a gear ...

The best way ... is to check the wiring diagrams or have extensive experience and know that in this case it is not connected to terminal T73b/12 , but is connected to terminal T73b/48.

As per my experience in manual transmission polo sedans in India, Backup lamp is controlled by the gear shifter not by the BCM, although BCM get input signal of reverse lamp from gear shifter.

So T73b/12 to Backup Lamp connection need to be done. Old wire you can cut and insulate. I hope this will ...

Yes, I'll have to replace the front steering gear as well. It's on its way and I'll do it soon to get rid of the old steering gear.

I have few same terminals if you want. We stay in nerby city so u will recive it in two days and you can continue your installation.

Same electrical installer for vento2013, smg_shardul, seeramkumars (Vento/Sedan) with the same symptoms in their car.

Thanks for your comment. Yes, I'm aware that these wirings are often present in the Indian VW Polos. However, in the EU spec, VW is known for nut putting a mm too much of wiring into the car and I don't expect the wires to be present in this English VW Polo RHD.

Anyway, on practice, front 288 and rear drum brakes configuration I have met only on Skoda Rapid. So VW ABS control unit firmware could not be prepared for such configuration, and that's why it doesn't accept such coding.
