No it shouldn't rattle. Is it only in 5th gear? If so, I might fear a bit for the gearbox.
Seems to be only 5th gear, perhaps also very quietly in 4th also.
Assuming the advice now is to throw it back to VW to get it repaired. Assuming the repair would be under warranty too, as the car is less ...
