Re: Trunk light refuses to work

So at the trunk light you have 12v at the connector ? The micro switch sends the negative/ earth side to switch the light on. With the bulb out there is no load on the circuit this maybe why the dash light works , please check the wiring in the trunk lid hinge area first , you may have a broken wire...

Re: Slight Shiver on Tickover

Saving money by missing out on replacing some service items can sometimes make no sense at all. Edit:- a top tip might be to try to find a proper garage that uses the car manufacturer's service schedule instead of "what we've always done since 1950". While I wholeheartedly agree with your...

Re: 2015 polo 1.2 se design tsi - infotainment system

Polos really only got CarPlay/ android auto from 2016 onwards , being an older car and without details of your 5F unit it’s near impossible to tell you if adding CarPlay would be possible.

Using the search function on here for CarPlay will bring you to a long thread dedicated to these issues

Re: Is this an MOT failure?

This may not be a mot failure but it would be a reason to ‘refuse to test’ as in the mot manual it states in the introduction section 4 refuse to test G, g. A proper examination cannot be carried out because any door, tailgate, boot, engine cover, fuel cap or other device designed to be easily opene...

Re: Oil fill

Sealey make a funnel that fits most vw engines which uses the same fixing as the oil filler cap , so you secure the funnel on the same way you would put the filler cap on. this in turn makes filling a lot easier and quicker.

Just google sealey vw funnel for results .

Re: Changing the front Subframe 2009 6R 1.6 TDI

Most of the suspension bolts are one time use bolts or torque to yield type bolts ,so yes to correct thing to do is to replace them and they will as you have pointed out look like 'normal' bolts 'A torque to yield fastener (TTY) or stretch bolt is a fastener which is torqued beyond the state of elas...

Re: Significant side-to-side movement of handbrake on 2016 Polo

The cut outs in the glove box lid are for
1 - A pen or pencil holder, the 2 'C' clips
2 - Coin holders
3 - I believe the square cut out is for some kind of road toll payment card also

ah im not fast enough lol

My guess would be M8 nuts that hold the parking brake lever to the vehicle floor

Re: Driver's door central locking button

The switch makes the locks active but not lock. Just so we are clear, how are you testing this ? From inside the car by pulling the interior handle as if you were exiting the car or with the window open trying the open the door using exterior handle ? When activated (locked from the interior switch...

Re: Polo 6C - Hand brake keeps braking

My guess is the rear brake shoes are 'stuck' to the drums , which is not uncommon on these cars . Try driving forward and backwards to free off the brakes, they should release with a bang if they are going to other wise you will have to strip them down. its not strange you can release the parking br...

Re: Front brake caliper rattle problem

Looking at the last picture in your original post you can clearly see some wear on the caliper at the bottom where the caliper/pad sits against the carrier area , this could lead to movement/noise. also the brake discs look to be worn and have a lip around the edge ,have you measured the discs for t...

Re: Multiple misfires - covered by warranty?

Hi and welcome, In answer to your question that really depends on a couple of things , what the dealer finds as to the cause of the 'misfire' ie what parts are required to fix said issue and secondly the terms and conditions of the warranty cover . You may find the warranty is top notch and covers m...
