I HATE it on every auto I've ever driven. Turn it off as soon as I get it. But on the Polo (manual) I've never been tempted to turn it off. Must be because I am still in control of when it can operate.

Sounds like it goes away sometimes like mine was. First time they looked at it it wouldn't show up so they told me to take a photo next time I see it.
Next time I was in I showed the photo and they got the screen replaced that day.

I get about 750km/tank Which is roughly 470 miles.

Sounds like there may be a problem if the gearbox is doing as you describe.

The car is very high geared, I think you're probably using a gear you're used to using in other cars and the Polo is struggling to pull it.
Assuming yours is a 5 speed car, you have to get used to driving one gear lower than your past experience might tell you.

How high does it start biting? if it's really near the top 1", it needs adjusting. When a normal clutch starts to wear out the pedal starts biting at the top.
Take it back.


I'd imagine it's a hydraulic clutch, not sure any/much adjustment possible.

Reading the posts, "r4b" smelling the burning clutch when starting on a hill. How steep are the hills around his area? Are the Polo clutch springs too soft for the job?

I will be collecting mine on the 1st of November and had asked about this already. I may just experiment with the flac files as even in 24bit 96khz some are still well over 100Mb and want to be sure that wont be an issue.
