of course an induction kit is going to be slightly better but if you dont have the money then its still ok to drill the box. I recon it would still make a bit of an improvement. My oem box is very restrictive compared to the air filter i have now. Acceleration would still be improved if drilled imo.

Right i bought new pads for the original discs for £20. Now the bloody caliper bolts wont come off and it looks like ill have to grind them off and put new bolts!! Genius VW put some rubbish allen bolts on there with hardly any head so theyre easy to round off once they've been on there a while. I ...

I actually have a set of G60 calipers and rotors sitting in the next room without pads but i dont have carriers for them! the plan was to fit them before i had to buy pads. Cant find them carreiers anywhere. Anyone know where i can get a a pair? or some alternative. As far as i know all i need apart ...

My brakes are officially finished of today. Grinding noise coming from front right wheel. I suspect the left wheel will start soon. Just past 73k.
Gonna look for some new pads on ebay!!

lol you know how to cheer me up dont you?! I know it was a bit of a waste of time but worth a try. Standard time is 14.something apparently. Its from 55-60 that really takes p*ss

I got a quote before for a turbo kit for the same engine. It wasnt pretty. Could buy quite a few engines for the price ...

Well Im a little disapointed today. The other 3" blower fan made a bit of difference but somehow two 6" fans dont! (same motor). No ecu mods of any kind, just manifold, backbox and airfilter with cold air. I dont think the fans create any real boost to be honest. Been driving all day, and i recon it ...

I've fitted everything now and just need to put it on. Im waiting for silicon to dry overnight and tomorrow it should be sweet. The fans are pushing quite a bit of air. Id guess about 200 cfm (no real idea though). I hope this means good things for performance and ill let you peeps know what happens ...

change the cam belt or at least check it. Congrats on the polo

You want to drill the holes so that the air still passes through the filter. Id do the side if i was you. If you're unsure take the lid off and look inside. You should have a donought filter. Drill outside it.

i think what you mean is you bought a new distributor cap and rotor for inside it and you want to change that? well in that case you dont need to set the engine to tdc cos your not taking the whole thing off. The new cap and rotor is a straight swap just make sure you get the leads the same was around
