Re: Observations with GTI+
So I have just come back from a week's holiday in Cornwall and wanted to get some opinions from others about how their GTI behaves in rural areas. I found while driving along that as soon as I would hit a hill the car would drop down a gear from 6 to 5th sometimes even 4th even if it was travelling...

Re: Let’s do a dyno run in a GTi
Typical pre gpf push out 370nm Max, and gpf ones around 340nm Max. Both push out 200-210hp regardless. Would be nice to see some other dyno graphs... but so far just a lot of claims from different people and no graphs. Even the tuners of different boxes, which claim x amount of horses under the bon...

Re: Let’s do a dyno run in a GTi
That's not your GTI is it Fazzy? Yes it is. What box is on there to only add 20ps and 33Nm? Is that one of those TUV approved boxes that is very cautious with the power increase? Yes it is. All TUV approved. I will analyse the dyno graph with the company and see if more power can be achieved from t...

Re: Let’s do a dyno run in a GTi
Thank you. Forgive me, its torque only? no KW? Or am I just being an old man and not reading correctly :P Howzit Oom :) Red curve is the power curve. Red numbers are the power numbers in KM (Polish for HP or PS) 208 PS standard (divide by 1,36 to get kW) so its 153 kW 228 PS with a box. (168 kW) Bl...

Let’s do a dyno run in a GTi
Today I decided to do a dyno run. Well... two in fact.
First run was stock standard, no modifications, stock intake, stock ehxaust, Orlen 95 octane fuel.
Second run is with a box. No other mods.
Stand-by for the results...

Front emblem replacement
After coming back home from a trip out in the country, I noticed that my front VW emblem has a stone chip. Replacement is freely available from about 15 Euros for a used part, up to about 50 Euros on ebay or amazon. I haven't bothered to enquire at the agents.... In order to remove the emblem use a ...

Re: chassi number for polo aw GTI
Pleeeease..... actual VIN numbers are freely available in new and used car sales websites. Obviously the guy doesn't know how to search. Not every car has VIN written on web. And since I got car from VW as first owner my vin was never publicly on web. On the other hand my vin is clearly written on ...

Re: chassi number for polo aw GTI
Some are perhaps concerned that their chassis number might be used for car cloning purposes - giving a stolen car a new and seemingly legitimate identity. It is a known problem in the UK. My dad had his MK5 Golf GT TDI170 cloned in 2012 and was getting speeding fines and points charges. Luckily he ...

Re: Pre-crash preventive occupant protection
Has anyone got this on their car, and is it useful ? When I ordered my car, I didn't want to pay for this, as the automatic window closing seemed a little useless for £140. However, since my car has the adaptive cruise radar and already preconditions the brakes if it senses an upcoming crash, I'm t...
