Re: 1.2 TSI Front Brakes and Suspension Queries

You can cut off the wear indicator wire from the pad. A loud metal-on-metal screaming noise is much more effective than a little "ding" noise from a warning buzzer. j/k :D Don't think you need to lift the engine to access the control arm bolts. I'd suggest new bolts though. I also need to ...

Re: AC evaporator cleaning question

From what I can see online, the leak is along the weld on the evaporator. I guess heat cycling will eventually get it. I haven't topped up charge on mine since I bought it in 2019 and the AC still works. Probably can do with a recharge as it's not as cold as I remember. I just want to get rid of som...

Re: AC evaporator cleaning question

LiquiMoly have one of these as well. Same application instruction. But looking at the spec the LM has a pH of 7.0 and this Wurth is 5.0. Not sure if that's gonna be a problem being slightly acidic. I just did a search for how to access the evaporator and wound up watching a removal procedure. Oh dam...

Re: AC evaporator cleaning question

I've seen them feed it into the air ducts as well. The instructions on Wurth's site say to feed it into the drain pipe. There are foam type cleaners that are used in the same way. Those seem to be more effective due to dwell time on the evaporator. Actually, Wurth have one like this, but I can sourc...

AC evaporator cleaning question

I have previously done the AC bomb thing in my 2017 6C. Just set off a can of disinfectant and shut the doors and let the AC run. I have a can of Wurth evaporator disinfectant/cleaner. This comes with a long hose to be inserted in the AC drain hose to get to the evaporator. 1320292.jpg The 6C doesn'...

Re: Retrofitting OEM footwell lights

So I was a bit confused. The footwell light mod I had seen was for a 9N. Might or might not be able to be done on a 6R or 6C. Here are links to posts, but not sure if anyone can get to them without registering and don't really want to copy someone's content directly: https://vwclub.co.za/forum/viewt...

Re: Retrofitting OEM footwell lights

I really need to see if I can find those details for doing these footwell lights where they run dimmer when the headlamsp are on until the doors are open.

Re: Retrofitting OEM footwell lights

I like the team-bhp site, but trying to register is a nightmare. They ask which is your favourite car and only list Indian ones. I didn't meet the grade.

Re: Retrofitting OEM footwell lights

Some people wire them into the dome light so that they're controlled by the same switch. Not very familiar with the wiring options on the 6C yet so not sure if they're controlled by BCM, but a hardwire to fuse box or dome light will work fine I think. I did someone do some weird stuff wiring them in...

Re: How major are these issues a garage noted?

Definitely do the water leaks and CV boot. If that boot has been split for very long or is completely gone then you might be in for a replacement CV depending on how much crud got in there. Otherwise, if CV is fine, you get universal flexible CV boots that you can use that negate removing the CV off...

Does sound like a sticky pedal or loose connection perhaps.

Re: CJZD oil level sensor?

No idea at all.

I will see if I have SB18 in place as well, but as for the wiring it is just not there.

Re: CJZD oil level sensor?

Found out where it goes. On 6R to instrument cluster, on 6C to ECU. I guess I'll hook it up some day. No idea what will need to be enabled to make it do anything or even what the ECU is going to do when it sees it. Will need connector 8K0 973 703 and cover 3C0 971 921. Just weird I've never noticed ...
