Re: Arm rest
Yeah design flaw. I wedge a thick key ring (about 15mm) in and it’s perfect.

Re: NSFW top mount bearing
So I had a saga a couple of months ago which involved them replacing the top mounts which reduced a creaking/squeaking noise but did not eliminate. In the end they took all the front components apart and greased them, problem solved. Been nice and quiet since.

Re: Knocking from rear driver side
New pads made no difference, although doesn't seem to "clunk" in reverse now, maybe once they bed in it will return. I noticed this "groan/creek" goes away after a couple hours driving, so I reckon it's maybe a joint dried out or a hinge that once it's moved enough it loosens up, any other ...

Re: Rubbing noise from wheels
Hi, noticed a problem that seems to have become more noticeable in the recent week.
When I turn at low speed (half lock or more, either direction), I can hear a rubbing noise that sounds like it's coming from both wheels.
Anyone else experienced this ?
Just decoding whether it is a ...

Re: Knocking from rear driver side
So after 4 visits it’s cured.
When I asked what had been done they said “lubed all bushes and joints”.
Now to get the dash creaking sorted

Re: Hard DSG gear change
Just wondered if anyone else had experienced a thumping hard DSG gear change after easing off the throttle during a bout of acceleration?
At a busy roundabout on my commute this morning, I saw a gap and took it, pressing hard on the accelerator to get away and then immediately coming off the ...

Have you done this? Based off the site I’m interested in this for my GTI+ but would want to understand install cost and the end sound.roywolfey wrote: Mon Apr 22, 2019 8:51 am You could install a Kufatec sound booster if that’s your thing. https://www.sound-booster.com/

Re: New Polo SE 95 - problems
Over the last 3 days or so I've also noticed a rattle/vibration in the handbrake area but found it to be the passenger seat belt receptacle (RHD vehicle.) I might just try that micro-fibre cloth trick I read here earlier to see if that resolve the noise.

Re: Stearing Issues R-Line
Hi All,
Since picking up my brand new Polo R-Line I'm finding various issues with the steering, its been back to the dealer twice and I'm not getting anywhere!
1. The steering seems to not be straight, I'm always having to turn the wheel slightly right to stay straight. If I let go of the wheel ...

Re: Creaking from Dashboard?
I have the exact same problem in my GTI+. Its on the third visit now (i actually had another problem that was a super annoying squeek related to a failed suspension mount). They went through the exact same things that you mentioned.
They've given up now saying its "normal", so im going to go to a ...

Re: Knocking from rear driver side
Funnily enough that was my initial thought during the first visit, but they disregarded due to mileage (<5k). I'll be insisting they look this time round!
Mileage is a daft reason for them to dismiss it.
Our Captur and Juke (same suspension) both needed front bushes under 10000 miles, it's a ...

Re: New 2018 Polo GTI faults
I Have identified the noise
My friend has a 2017 Golf GTi he has a similar sound. He suspects it the shock absorbers too.
I can agree as I recall after being the road for hours. The noise was loud, so it be related to the shock being Warmish hot. Sounds like it has no lubrication or ...
