Have been looking for a CWN and i cant find one anywhere.

Had a quote for gearbox rebuild - £458 + VAT

Considering i purchased this car extremely cheap i shall not be going down the rebuild route.

Clutch down actually doesn't effect the noise. only dampens it slightly

When traveling, when in 2nd and decelerating you hear a very loud "grinding noise" however this is only when decelerating not accelerating or traveling very slow.

Im not too sure on the exact model and i apologies for this due to my lack of knowledge with the older models.

I Have just been given a 1999 VW Polo 1.0 Petrol Manual 5DR [6N]
I am coming to understand that the gearbox may be faulty and would need replacing... Would anyone know what the part number is or where to find one.
