Re: Another MOT passed!
Mine also :D , 2004 9n 1.2 12v petrol 72,000mls. Nothing to do witht he MOT but just had the auxillary belt and tensioner renewed as there was a loudish vibration between 1000-1750rpm when accellerating. Turned out it was the belt slapping on the skid casting just above the sump pan, caused by a wea...

No intermittant wipe
Decided to remove the wiper motor as it has started making a clicking sound on the up movement, and also to clean out the drain holes. After stripping the mechanism, greasing, putting it all back together I set about testing the system without the arms for its parking position. I decided it would be...

Engine oil flush ?
9n 1.2 petrol 74,000mls. I have previously successfully done engine flushes on Volvo petrol and Diesel engines with timing belts, that have mostly resulted in cleaner oil for longer after the flush. As the 1.2 has a timing chain are their any extra risks with these engines and what are peoples exper...

Re: Aircon leak
In response to your question " Can you get a leak inside the car that they can't find or is it all in the engine bay......." Yes the leak can be inside the car in the evaporator matrix or its connections, this is in the heater/cooler unit under the dashboard. Not sure how easy you could se...

Re: A/C issues
When you say a/c was only working on numbers 3 & 4 , as you are replacing the fan resistor do you mean the fan was not running fast enough in speeds 1 & 2

Re: Tailgate open warning permanent.
You are so right  Just done what you suggested and the warning light does go off when the latch is pushed right home. The latch appears to have two positions. With the adjustment I made the tailgate is being held shut only on the first latch, the micro switch only opens (warning light off) when...

Tailgate open warning permanent.
Ok, so I decided to adjust the striker plate as the tailgate was not held tight to the rubber seal when closed. Now I have a tailgate that seals properly, but have a permanent tailgate open warning light :( Can't find a tailgate light fitting, perhaps it does not have one :?: Any ideas :?: 2004 1.2 ...

Rear brake shoe, white round sliding pads
Currently renewing the rear shoes (one set cracked across the center rivits) and need to replace the 6 small white round 15mm dia plastic sliding pads that the shoes sit against fitted into the rear wall. Some are broken and others have heavy indented slots. Have searched the bay with nil luck. Any ...

Re: Brake fluid change
All went well with the Eezibleed, no blow outs of fluid over the engine. The old fluid in the master reservoir was green, orange out of o/s rear (rust somewhere), green out of the other 3 pistons. One front caliper renewed when all attempts to persuade the nipple to come out failed, that included ha...

Re: Brake fluid change
Gearbox oil changing, if it is a manual gearbox, which I'd expect it to be, then I've never ever changed gearbox oil, VW will have meant it to be able to survive the life of that gearbox - or car. Brake bleeding order, VW will say front right > front left > rear right > rear left, but I have always...

Brake fluid change
New to the forum. I am a Volvo man (apparently they are an old persons car !!!!) so have purchased for my son a 2004 Twist 1.2 12v petrol 72,000mls, one owner. Just one of the jobs is changing the brake fluid, it looks black in the reservoir  Planning to use an easy bleed. Question :?: If I ca...
