Re: Creaking Rear Suspension

Thanks for the reply.
I had someone sat in the passenger seat today who said it feels and sounds like the noise is right under his feet ?
He suggested the gearbox mounts ? I wouldn't be suprised with this car, a bit more to add to the list.

looks like i'll have to book it in.

Thanks .

Re: Creaking Rear Suspension

I sprayed the front topmounts with Silicone PTFE grease, it stopped the noise for 10 mins, then it came back.
Does that mean the top mounts are the problem. The creaking sound has definatley got louder over the last few weeks.

Before i throw it in the garage does anyone know what i should expect to ...

Creaking Rear Suspension

I've done a quick search and i'm thinking it's the Rear Top Mounts.
It makes the same noise as when the front ARB Bushes failed, creaking with every little movement.

Has anyone had these replaced and how much will it cost ?

Thank you.

Re: Rust

I can't remember who told me but i got the impression that they replace the handle.
If it was a paint problem why replace the whole handle ?

Vw salesmen must pass a lieing course before they get the job !

Re: Rust

The reason i went in was because i had heard that VW were replacing these handles (known fault !)
He told me he had no knowledge of this, then went off to check it up (yeah, right) came back and said there was no recalls or anything for that and mine was the first one he'd seen with this problem. It ...

Re: Rust

I also showed them the rust that had broke through on the boot handle.
He Told me the warranty will only cover rust from the inside out  and as mine was judged to be ...

I've not had chance yet to get the door card off, might get chance soon.
As for the your question RUM4MO, yes both lights do come on with 1 door open.
It looks like the interior light doesn't like me, it only worked for a day after i thought i'd fixed it.
The interior light itself can be easily ...
