Happy to see this topic as I was also looking for the same conversion of my vento 1.6tdi - CLNA- 77kw - 2011 model. Please help in sharing the process for conversion, it will be very helpful for my long pending dream.

you might have turned the ignition key on when the airbag were removed. so BCM would have triggered an error reading the part, you can clear the fault code via diagnostics tool.
