Managed to fix it in the end.
Went to the local dealer to get the excentric, they advised i took whole handle with me cos usually a couple of parts break, not just the excentric part.
Because i had the old (faulty) excentric, it is no longer available so had to have the new, modified ...

Hi guys, just joined the forum today cos my g/f has a problem with the door lock on her mk4 Polo.
