LOL er no, not yet! It'll hopefully be completed in September by The Phirm, so not long to wait now. Points worth noting: it's a tight squeeze in the bay. You've got about 4mm clearance on each side of the engine and that's all. Plus, you need to shave a small bit of metal off the master brake...

Hmm...good point on the tyres. Looks like I'll be buying another set of rims then  Tom - just seen you've got a taxi ride booked. O yes..... Try and wangle it to go with Sabine if you can, she's a bit faster than the bloke, plus she'll swing the tail out as much as you like, if you ask h...

Pics needed! Agreed. VOILA....
http://img248.imageshack.us/img248/9142/photoua8.th.jpg Here's one of the wee beastie last October at the Ring. (Parked waiting for the track to reopen after several crashes) Immediately upon it's return to dear old Blighty, the transformation work began. I bet it wondered what it had done wrong......

The best things come to those who wait....
...to keep you up to speed y'all, I'm looking at being back on the road by June 21st at the latest. Thanks for your offer, but Tom got it in one, I've got all the stuff. (Yep, I got it BAD  ) Incidentally, I'm going to try some Toyos on mine, I've heard plenty of positive things said abo...

Keep it looking pretty much how it is and it'll be a right sleeper  Absolutely right - less is more. The only concessions I've thought about in terms of styling would be a front splitter and rear spoiler from a 6N2 GTi, but sprayed in the candy white. In other words, keeping things as subt...

You'll have to drop me a PM when it's finished, I'd love a go in it :D I may even pop down VAG Tech on Saturday, need to get a C spanner for my coillies I'm going to be poking my head down there this Saturday to see how things are progressing (and also because I left the bumper in my garage at home...

My car is currently in the workshop having this conversion done (1.8T, 180 BHP with a 6-speed box). I was able to do the lion's share of work myself; this definietly helps keep the cost down. And yes, getting quoted OVER £7k by a certain company put me off too. However, it CAN be done, and ...

Re: engine mounts
Nice choice of modifications you have listed, but I would suggest looking for an upgrade to the brake calipers themselves, rather than just using aftermarket discs (apologies if you are/have). Point taken. The EBC discs are now a stop-gap measure what with the up-rated power; I'll need to look for s...

...Here we go. Deep breath....
Well, that's that. My wagon is in the hands of VAGtech, I am fully expecting to be brassic for a wee while (and when I've got the final total, I'll PM you guys  ) but where I've managed to save a few pennies is to source the engine myself, then strip it down and rebuild it myself. Time is what...

Re: Engine mounts
Cor, twin turbo R32....that won't hang around! Yes, John's been nothing except a hero helping me finish off my work...and when the time comes for chipping and a nice big Garrett, it's him I'll be talking to. Although a mate of mine did mention an interesting thought that might well become ...

Re: engine mounts
Well, yes and no. Yes, in that the easiest thing to do is buy Golf Mk4 engine mounts and do some metalwork - but in the end I've opted to let the guys at VAGtech finish the work by making up some custom mounts. It'll cause the least disruption in the engine bay. BTW - if anyone is thinking of doing ...

Turbo conversion - help needed with enigne mounts!
Hello! I'm in the middle of converting my 16v 100bhp Polo to something even more fun - 1.8 turbo, 180bhp. I know a few people out there have had this done to their cars, so I hope you can help me here; it's regarding engine mounts. I'm wanting to use OEM mounts - but what mounts/part numbers do I ne...
