Hi Matt,
Sorry for the delayed reply.
Yes the noise was very similar to mine. I stripped all the trim from the inside of the car and sat in the back while my partner drove around for a while. It got a lot louder when all the plastics were removed but the location was still not very obvious. I too ...

Re: Wheels
205/45-17s work ok
. I have them fitted to my 6C GTI. Slightly larger rolling radius I think but work well. Speedo still accurate.

Re: Rattling from my left rear wheel area
Did you also change the top mounting bush? A must when changing shocks.

Re: Chirp/Metallic Sound From Suspension Over Rough Roads?
Front suspension or rear? If it's the front it's likely to be anti roll bar drop links. Rear, possibly top shock absorber mountings.

Re: Polo GTI 2016 rear right wheel arch noise
Also, if you are handy and have the tools they can both be changed in about half an hour. Literally 3 bolts. Do not use an air gun on the top suspension mount bolts! Threads can strip. I think they something like 30nm + 90 degrees, but please check. Good luck

Re: Polo GTI 2016 rear right wheel arch noise
I think I can help you. I had the exact same trouble with my 2016 GTi. I was pulling my hair out trying to find the problem. I tore the inside of the car apart trying to find the problem, unnecessarily...

Re: 6C GTi brake problems
I removed the top from the brake fluid reservoir and pushed the caliper pistons home. I did not clamp any pipes or crack any of the bleed nipples. I had to remove some fluid from the reservoir as I pushed the pistons back because when I had the fluid replaced last year it was before the brakes had ...

Re: 6c GTi bleeding the brakes
The Ferodo pads I fitted were exactly the same design as the TRW oe ones I removed. Which did not squeak or stick.
I will bear in mind everything you have said and update when I have hopefully made some progress (fingers crossed). Thanks again.

Re: 6c GTi bleeding the brakes
The Ferodo pads I have fitted do have a tin plate bonded to the back of the pads. This also folds over at the points where the ears are on the pads where they slide in the caliper carrier. Both pads are free in the carrier. I smeared a little bit of white brake slider pingrease on the sliding pins ...

6c GTi bleeding the brakes
Hi,
I have decided to order some new brake flexis to try and sort my sticking brakes. However I have read in various places you cannot bleed the brakes in the conventional manner. You need to do it with the computer plugged in. Is this correct?
I was hoping I could bleed them with someone pumping ...

Re: 6C GTi brake problems
Thank you for your replies. I had the brake fluid changed when the car was serviced about six months ago. I am going to see if things improve as the pads bed in because the most annoying part is the squeak at the moment. The caliper doesn't actually bind that much. I just find it difficult to ...

6C GTi brake problems
Hi there,
My first post so be gentle please🙂. I have just replaced discs and pads all round on my 2016 GTi. It has the larger 310/312mm discs at the front. I'm having an issue with the front nearside caliper sticking on after a brake application. This brakes on this side also squeek with light brake ...
