Re: Honest opinion - anyone else regret buying their GTI?
Popped into my local Ford dealer today, left having ordered a new Ford with them and PX’d the Polo. Feel glad to be getting out of it and definitely won’t miss it

Honest opinion - anyone else regret buying their GTI?
I’ve had my GTI+ 6 months now, covered 4,000 miles and totally not in love with it, never have been!
When I was looking at changing my previous car (2018 Ford Focus ST-Line 1.0l ecoboost 140PS) I had my heart set on a new Fiesta ST-3, but then they added some stuff to them which was previously ...

Re: Downpipe Polo GTI AW 2.0
Pretty much anything you change will void the warranty, exhaust, suspension, engine upgrades etc

Re: Downpipe Polo GTI AW 2.0
By the looks of it that downpipe will remove the catalytic converter so as a result will put in the engine management light and also void warranty.
Why would you want to fit that downpipe but not remap?!

Re: Having my drop links changed next week
Fords suffer from a creak when going over speed bumps in cold weather and its actually the anti roll bar bushes that cause it not the links

Re: What options are worth the money?
I can only speak about the GTI from experience but I’d say money wise the bigger wheels are probably the only thing ‘worth’ the money considering they are only £350 optional extra.
If I was ordering from factory then that would be the only extra I’d have. I got mine with a rear camera also but ...

Re: Fav colour
GTI has to be red
To be honest I don’t have a favourite colour, the only colour I’ll never even consider is black, on any car

Re: Polo gti mods
I honestly don’t understand the obsession some people have with ‘pops and bangs’. Yes i agree the car needs to sound a bit meatier but the only thing adding pops and bangs does is make everyone you drive past think “what a bellend”

Re: Aftermarket Alloys
Tyre wise I’d have to go up to 225/40R18 as the rim would be slightly wider unless I go for the slightly ‘stretched’ tyre look and put my current 215/40R18 tyres on.
I just can’t seem to find an alloy I like the look of in 7.5j size, I don’t mind it sticking out a bit further as I’ve seen people ...

How many have replaced their wheels with aftermarket ones?
I have a GTI+ and hit a pot hole not long ago and bent one of the wheels beyond repair. Now VW want over £700 for a new wheel and not being a huge fan of diamond cut wheels anyway im considering just replacing them all for something ...

Re: GTI+ left air vent rattle
My advice is... get used to it
Everytime I drive mine it rattles from somewhere different, handbrake lever, rear view mirror, dash vents, drivers seatbelt adjuster, passenger seatbelt adjuster.
Cheap plastic + firm ride + low profile tyres = rattles
