Re: Retrofit cruise (NOT ACC)
Because it slows you down behind traffic which is fine,
I'd much rather that, than having it ram into the car in front. Standard cruise control drove me mad, as I was constantly toggling it on and off and readjusting the speed to maintain a safe distance behind cars. With adaptive, it is set ...

Re: Retrofit cruise (NOT ACC)
I don’t know why the OP didn’t like it but I don’t like it either!
Because it slows you down behind traffic which is fine, but when you pull out to overtake there’s a huge pause before it accelerates and when it does accelerate it does it harshly (and not very economically). It’s also more than ...

Re: Retrofit cruise (NOT ACC)
It’s automatic cruise control, not adaptive.
It’s a replacement stalk which has an extra button on the bottom of it to switch between cruise and limiter modes.
When using cruise a green caption comes up in the dash showing the speed set.

Re: Hi, New Member
If I could have found one in orange with the black roof I’d have bought it! Not many SELs around within my price range!

Re: How to change the light bulb?
Don’t know but guess for re painting. Everything is straight and looks original underneath, the right side of the plastic bumper does seem to have a bit more orange peel effect than the left side but you only notice if you look really close. Sorted now anyway!

Re: Retrofit cruise (NOT ACC)
No part number as I paid electronically due to current restrictions but hopefully one will be in the post to me. Below is the booklet that was left in my car with the Activation Code, Activation Number and Pin Code.

Re: How to change the light bulb?
Thanks Andy Beats, I managed to get them out by slipping a couple of old plastic store cards underneath first to get them to rise over the obstruction. When I got them out I found my problem, someone has previously removed the front bumper and not put it back correctly so the two big tabs that are ...

Re: Retrofit cruise (NOT ACC)
As I understand it there were 2 options for cruise control when ordering a new polo in 2018, a ‘normal’ cruise using a slightly different stalk for £290 and an ‘ACC’ cruise using steering wheel buttons (with radar control) which was £600. Both of these would have VAT added so £375 + VAT seemed ok to ...

Re: How to change the light bulb?
Sorry to revive an old thread but tried to remove my headlights today to switch the bulbs and loosening them was easy but no way were they coming out as the front bumper seems to overlap the bottom of the headlight. Mines a 2018 SEL so might have different front bumper?

Re: Retrofit cruise (NOT ACC)
Getting close to my ideal spec now.
Armrest done.
Headlights upgraded to white bulbs.
Window tints done.
I really want cruise though, anyone any idea as to the cost of retrofitting it?
To be clear I DO NOT WANT ACC, I really do not like that one little bit.
Ordinary cruise is what I want.

Hi, New Member
Hi All, I've recently bought a 2018 VW Polo SEL to replace a 2013 Polo 1.4 Match (sadly got rear ended and written off) and hoping the new one will be as reliable as the last!
First impressions are good and it seems a big step forward from my last one!
