sorry its a 2005 volkswagen polo e55 model

i changed the fuses and the light came on for a few seconds before dimming out, there is about 3-4 volts going through the fixture when i tried with a multimeter, i also changed the bulb and still nothing and currently cannot take the car anywhere to have it checked. any ideas what might be causing ...
