Re: Engine help needed please !

Unfortunately looks like a another valve problem (No1), this was a well known problem and No3 did seem to be the one that failed most often,No3 exhaust valve failed on my wife's 2005 9N at 34558 kms, 21,473 miles, almost 3 years from new but from about 6 months onwards was developing a miss very ...

Re: Start-Stop not working

I have a Jan 2019 and a April 2026 Polo, the stop/start will be enabled after 500 meters as long as the ambient is > -2.5C, engine coolant temperature doesn't come into the equation, then, no matter what distance you've travelled, no matter how far, the stop/start will not be re enabled until the ...

Re: 2026 95 BHP TSI high idling speed

We also have a 2019 65 BHP, MPI (non turbo) Polo that is showing a VCDS idle speed of 776 RPM, this increases to ~ 1000 RPM when car is put in first gear and remains at this level in any gear, other car will be checked out at main dealer next Friday.

2026 95 BHP TSI high idling speed

Will verify tomorrow when my VCDS is returned from loan but the idling speed from new has never fallen below a tacho indicated speed of 1000 RPM even when fully hot, is this a feature of turbo charged 3 cylinder engines, I would have thought 750 to 800 RPM would be more normal?

Edit: Just now ...

No, but it still plays whatever station has been selected so I just press Menu, then select radio again.

2026 Polo Radio

Every time I switch off off the ignition after reversing (this car has reversing cameras) then I have to select Menu then Radio to get the radio stations back up on the informant screen, this also happens even if no reversing occurs or you even switch off the radio sometimes, I want/wish the radio ...

Re: Is the 12v battery covered under VWs 3 year warranty?

Further to the above, the battery SOC dropped to 64%, the BMS on this car works (fault??) completely different to the 2019 model, the 2019 model NEVER lets the charging voltage drop below 13.4/13.6V (battery NEVER supplying any electrical load once engine is running, and charging at a minimum 1.0/2 ...

Re: Is the 12v battery covered under VWs 3 year warranty?

Just for interest.

New 1.0L 95BHP TSI Polo battery readings just after driving ~ 10kms after delivery, "mileage" 18kms. Car behaving exactly like the 2019 one, start/stop enabled/ operates after exactly 0.5kms even after a cold (4C) start yesterday morning. Presume its the same 59AH EFB Battery ...

A strange one??.
Is the "all off leak" test the parasitic loss?
You can leave any of the normal users switched on manually, interior light(s) radio etc switched on and they will all be switched off after a few minutes after leaving the car, even if you left the boot lid opened, its interior light ...

Re: More tyre pressure monitor problems

I had one false TPMS warning with my previous generation 6c Polo GTI which I put down to the outside air temperature - in my case, it was a near-zero temperature during the winter months.

I checked the tyre pressures and they were all OK, reset the TPMS I never had any other false warnings ...

SRI Reset

Polo 2019
VCDS HEX-V2, Dual-K & can
Release 25.3.2 (Latest)

Cannon reset the above, it generates a log showing all the data kms since last reset, days etc (367) since last reset.
But the "reset SRI" box is greyed out so I cannot reset it.

Its worked fine the last 4 times I've used it.

Edit: Old ...

Re: Non start but cranking

Could possibly be a crankcase breather problem, p1156 is a MAP (manifold absolute pressure) fault, the ECU uses this "vacuum" measurement + the engine revs to calculate the air density/flow, vital for correct fuelling.

Mirror Heating

Can VCDS be used to change the method of controlling the above from the utterly stupid method of a on/off switch to contro from the HRS switch, at least the HRS will switch off automatically after 20 minutes or so or when it reaches a certain temperature I think.

I read in Briskoda that it can be ...

Re: Oil warning light problem

Couldn't see anything like a level sensor so must have been the Bora but I was fairly sure it was on this Polo, I'll be changing the oil/filter at the end of the year so will check for any warning light when oil is removed.
