Front brake replacement GTI
Hi, I'm looking to change the front pads and discs myself on my GTI. Are there any specific tools I'd need? Also do the pads have the wear warning indicator cable? Any advice is greatly appreciated and OEM part numbers if anyone has them? Many thanks

Track Rod ends
Hi,
I've got a 2018 GTI and just failed the MOT on track rod ends rubber being split. One of the ends completely split and the other wasn't far behind. Has anyone else experienced this failure yet?
I suppose this could be down to the awful roads in the UK. Could be something for you guys to watch ...

Overall very positive and well worth the money. Got a new gear selector out of my extended warranty and later a new water pump out my all-in package. That's almost £2000 worth of work through ...

Re: Low Coolant
Just thought I'd give an update on the coolant leak.
Got the car seen by the dealer over the last weekend and they confirmed the water pump was leaking and it needed replacing. Luckily they agreed to do it through my All-in warranty so didn't cost me a penny and I got to Enjoy a Skoda Karoq for 3 ...

Re: Low Coolant
I've had the car since 2021 with 16k on the clock. I'm guessing the thermostat has never been changed. I'm unsure if it was a sudden drop but I did top it up about 2 months ago. Where abouts should I be looking for the coolant residue?

Low Coolant
On my way home just now my 2018 GTI threw a low coolant light on the dash and upon inspection it had dipped below the minimum line. I've since refilled it and car car is fine again. What reason would it be using coolant like this? Could it be the thermostat leak you hear about on the Golf GTI/R?

Recently had an email about Volkswagens summer sale on servicing plans. The VW all in program is being offered for for £28 a month which includes 2x services 2x MOT 2 year roadside and 2 year extended warranty. Handbrake replacement
My GTI has just been in for its DSG service and the dealer called me to ask about additional works.
He described my handbrake as "notchy" and suggested a cable replacement at £293. Is this the only fix or would an adjustment solve this issue? Or perhaps I'd be better off going to a VW specialist ...

Squeak at slow speed
In the last week or so my 2018 GTI has developed a squeak on the right side when turning at slow speeds sometimes.
Google says it could be CV/universal joints or tie rods ends that need lubricating.
Does this sound plausible and how would I go about this?
Is there a product VW recommend for this ...
