Re: jerky at low revs dsg !

I notice this if I’m accelerating over them. I coast over the bumps and no issues.

Re: Rear window Snowflake...?

Yes! I have this on several windows, two on the front windscreen and one per door window on the drivers side. Haven’t looked elsewhere. At first I was confused but then assumed it was left over from my detailer who does the car ever two months or so. Given it’s common to the type it’s possibly from ...

Re: Dashcam cable routing

I have a 72 R-Line. Mines mounted on the rear window, at the corner the window trim becomes wider and so the cable goes into the trim, through the OEM wiring loom/seal and into the cabin where it runs along the trimming to the front. I had it professionally installed my a local auto electrician who’...

Re: How to remove gear gaitor and swap for alcantara?

I don’t know the answer but in my experience on other VWs you just pull directly upwards and the plastic clips will loosen and come free.

Now as to get the actual shifter off..not a clue.

Re: DSG Service schedule

From my own research it’s a sealed unit with separate oil for the mechatronics and the gearbox itself. The mechatronics is sealed and the gearbox oil ‘can’ be changed but isn’t absolutely required. Unfortunately the unit will wear and eventually the clutch will need replacement and it will cost a fo...

How can we check our PPF levels?

As it says on the tin. I have a 2022 R-Line and would like to be able to monitor my PPF/GPF level as I do mainly city driving. Being able to monitor it will allow me to plan longer leisure drives. Past vehicles I’ve used had it displayed on the MFD within the instrument cluster. Can OBD11 or similar...

Re: Road Sign recognition

I've had mine read the speed signs on adjacent roads or slip lanes and then adjust my speed to that. It's a little annoying but I assumed its just a standard thing with these roadsign recognition systems.

Re: arm rest issue ?

Mine points slightly up. If I have it in the forward position with the handbrake raised it sits just a few mm off the top of the handbrake. If yours is touching the handbrake I'd suggest thats abnormal. Side note - as the previous poster mentioned, there are 3D printed "risers". I have the...

Re: We Connect Plus query

Tried searching for Petrol stations in the SatNav in the Infotainment system in the car and that appears to work OK (including prices etc.). So happy with that. Pretty much makes the mobile We Connect app pointless. Can't see me ever using it (for what?). Yeah not to mention the app is quite slow! ...

Re: We Connect Plus query

Hi mate, I just picked up my R-Line and kept having this email saying all those services were disconnected. I think it’s related to the privacy settings as once I turned privacy down they stayed on. To do it swipe down from the tip and swipe change privacy settings to the far right option. If you ne...

Re: Knocking when turning left or right

I had the CV boot replaced on the passenger side due to a tear and water ingress, even after the New boot the car still groans when turning left and right while accelerating. That is a separate issue I’m going to get the garage to look into. I think the sounds I’m hearing now could be the tie rod e...

Re: Knocking when turning left or right

When my old vehicle did this it was the CV joint boots.

Did it start on one side only or has it always been both from the get go?

What year is your car? How many miles covered?

Road sign recognition

Hi everyone, Long time looker - first time poster. I’ve got a new Polo Life on order. It’s *should* have been built last week so I’m expecting delivery in around another 6. I’m curious, since it has the front camera for ACC and Lane assist, will it also have road sign recognition? If not is this som...
