The dash lights come on but nothing else. No starter motor sound, engine doesn't turn over.

Hi My Polo isn't used much and when I got a flat battery I charged it overnight, now a full 12V. Now the courtesy lights come on fine, and when I try to start the car, all the dash lights come on, but the engine doesn't turn at all. We had the same issue. Wipers on even when turned off. Lion garage in Nottingham fixed it for us. As others have suggested, The contacts on the switch (control stalk) were dirty and apparently metal particles can short the switch. They cleaned and regreased the switch and all working fine.

Nobody could suggest anyone, so my son took his car to uni in Nottingham and lion garages took a look at his issue. They did a great job, and it’s now fixed with no new parts required. Anyone in Nottingham needing a a good independent I recommend Lion. Shame Berkshire seems to be such a wasteland!

Hi all. Looking for a good vw independent in the Windsor or Maidenhead area who could replace my wiper control stalk for me. Please let me know if you can recommend anyone. Have tried calling a few I found on Google but no one is returning my calls. Thanks folks.
