Re: Screen washer and front wiper failure
A blown fuse can mean that there is an electrical problem in the circuit or that there is a problem with the pump motor.
Oh yes, absolutely. I'm assuming that trying to operate the washer when the reservoir was probably frozen is what blew the fuse. But if it blows again, then obviously it ...

Re: Screen washer and front wiper failure
Yes, it's definitely the fuse.
Thank you so much for helping with this, guys. You've saved me the time and expense of taking it to a garage. :)
Now I just need to get a replacement fuse. I'm thinking of buying an assortment kit off Amazon, which will probably still work out cheaper than buying ...

Re: Screen washer and front wiper failure
I'm sure, from memory of reading about people having this "no washer fluid pump" in 6C Polo, that there is another pump associated with the washer fluid pump - as well as that one that you have found.
VW's description will probably be vague or worse!

Re: Screen washer and front wiper failure
If you don't have a diagnostic tool to post a scan, upload a photo of the fuse box under the steering wheel so we know if it is a 6R or a 6C and indicate the appropriate fuse or comment on what could be happening.
I'm afraid it's a 6C but we'll wait for that image.
I think it is a 6C, going by ...

Re: Screen washer and front wiper failure
Sorry for the late reply, I was starting a new job today and so have been rushed off my feet for the past few days in preparation for that.
The wipers weren't working when I got to my destination in Manchester because I had popped open the bonnet to check the washer reservoir. It seems that I hadn ...

Screen washer and front wiper failure
Hi, I discovered that the screen washer has suddenly stopped working today on my 1.2 TSI Bluemotion (2014) while I was driving on the M62. That was a fine time for this to happen, with all the road spray being splashed onto the windscreen and the really intense winter sun glare today while driving ...

Re: Need new windscreen - does the SE TSI have rain sensors
I can’t remember reading of any issues with non OEM replacement windscreens from other forum members on this forum.
That's fine. It's just that I've been reading some horror stories about Autoglass on review sites. But I'm also aware that there are paid-for negative reviews as well as positive ...

Re: Need new windscreen - does the SE TSI have rain sensors
When it rains, do the wipers come on?
Is your handle always in position 1?
Do you have the photosensor on the windscreen side of the inside mirror?
If you are not sure, my guess is you do not have the sensor.
No.
No. It's normally at zero and only goes to 1 when it's raining and I manually ...

Re: Need new windscreen - does the SE TSI have rain sensors
Does your inside mirror auto dim?
You could also check in the middle of your windscreen on the other side of your mirror.
There should be a dsrk purple spot if you are equipped with one.
It's very dark and raining hard at the moment, so hard to get a good look at it or get a decent photo ...

Need new windscreen - does the SE TSI have rain sensors
I was trying to remove the A-pillar trim to hardwire my dashcam. I pried a little too hard with the plastic trim remover tool and managed to crack the damn windscreen.

Changing spark plugs for first time in 1.2 TSI
I think my 2014 Polo 1.2 TSI (82,000 miles) needs new spark plugs. Partly it's because I don't think I'm getting sufficient mpg for this spec (see my other thread on this) and partly because I can't see any sign of plugs ever being changed in its service history.
Thing is that I haven't changed ...

What real world mpg are you getting from your 1.2 TSI?
I'm pretty happy overall with the 1.2 TSI (2014) I bought recently, although I'm slightly disappointed with the mpg I'm getting so far. Obviously I know that the official figures are unrealistic and it would be a tall order to get 70mpg in extra urban driving in real road conditions. But when I ...

Confused over timing belt advice
I've read that VW UK previously advised changing the timing belt every five years or every 40,000 miles, whichever came first, whereas VW Germany recommended just a visual check at 100,000 miles with no time limit. I've also read that VW Uk has now fallen in line with the German advice.

Re: Bought Polo last Sunday, VIN number not visible on windscreen
Just to update, the dealer has since got back to me and he's arranged to sort it when I bring it on, so all should be good. The VIN does check out in the other places (engine bay, boot, door pillar), so I presume it is legit.
