Dan, what was the damage on the repair and how long to do (plus what parts to order?)

Got it rigged up with a dvd navigation and 8" touch screen hard fitted into the dash where your air con usually sits! I'll get some pics and post it coz that is a top H/U with loads of feat's

the oil colour appears oily!

It's just new and is the same colour as it was when I put it in!

I've still got this issue and I've had it to VW stealers who have told me they can't fix it coz they don't know what it could be. They said it's not bringing any fault codes up as it's too subtle!

I too am having the same problem with the leaking washer jets on the headlights. I dropped the fog light out and had a look rather than take the bumper off! damn sight easier but not if you want to take it off!

Let me know (PM me) when you find out what it could be. Mine is usually empty in a day ...

It sounds like a fault with the variable timing unit not the camshaft sensor.

Is your oil level ok?

Oil level seems fine. It had lost some a while back but since changing the components listed earlier I've had no great loss of oil?

I've started thinking along the same lines as you but... where ...

I'm guessing that by changing cam shaft sensor I've done what it says is the fault recitfication, Plus all the other things that I thought might solve it such as test the lambda and put new plugs and air filter? non of which have solved it?! BAFFLED

I't just about due a service and would probably be the toothed belt change. I sometimes hear a bit of a metallic ring if revving and allowing to idle (usually about 2500 rpm) That's not the idler arm on the way out is it?

What to buy? Have any of you any good suggestions? Was looking to replace mine with K&N 33-2774 direct replacement for the standard one! Has anyone ever used these and what was your opinion?
