"What’s to say they won’t adopt a similar unhelpful / untruthful attitude with you again in future?"
To be honest, that is exactly why I opted to take it to a local tyre bay and have it checked independently.
VW customer services were quite good. The person who dealt with me literally said she was ...

Re: Vibration and wheel wobble brand new Polo
VW customer services confirmed that the 600 mile thing is rubbish and booked me in to have the tracking and balancing checked and adjusted as necessary. In between time though I took it into a local tyre bay and had the wheels balanced. Two of them were 70g and 65g out - the other two were 35g out ...

Re: Vibration and wheel wobble brand new Polo
You wouldn't think a new car could be delivered like that. A VW salesman from elsewhere told me they had it once due to a weight coming off the wheel. Never heard of that but I suppose it could happen. I'm going to get it checked.

Re: Vibration and wheel wobble brand new Polo
Thanks for the input. I have emailed customer services and made it known that I'm not happy about this, and that I will reject the car if it turns out to be anything other than alignment or balancing. I at least had a quick reply with a reference number so it's logged in the system.

Vibration and wheel wobble brand new Polo
Just took delivery of a brand spanking new Polo Black Edition. The steering wheel wobbles and there is seat vibration at 60-70 mph. It feels to me like the wheels are out of balance - or possibly an alignment issue. The branch won't do anything until the car has done 600 miles. They say this is VW ...

Re: Polo 1.2 6r ABS module/connector pin positions
OK, all sorted. I got the module plug apart but there seemed to be no issue there. I removed the plastic carpet trim at the base of the nearside front door, and found a lump in the harness, which I think must be the J7 joint. After the joint there is a twisted pair of green/black cables going to the ...

Re: Polo 1.2 6r ABS module/connector pin positions
OK, thanks again. Very useful. I view of that I'm thinking I will bypass the harness and run a cable from the back of the pin to where I've cut under the rear seat. If I can get that pin connection it shouldn't be too bad. My job for this afternoon.

Re: Polo 1.2 6r ABS module/connector pin positions
Thanks again. I plan to follow the wiring from the rear seat to the front, as best I can. The J7 connection is a possible weakness?
My concern really is if it ends up me needing to get at the pin connections in the back of the abs plug. It's tightly packed in there and not the best access.

Re: Polo 1.2 6r ABS module/connector pin positions
Thanks for the advice both. The pin 2 cable is dead between the wheel and abs plug. I cut the cable under the back seat and tested in both directions; it's good to the wheel but dead to the abs plug. So I need to trace the cable and try and find where the problem is. My feeling is it won't be in the ...

Re: Polo 1.2 6r ABS module/connector pin positions
That's perfect iichel. Thanks for your help. I'm getting something like 0.9v at the wheel plug, which I think should be closer to 12v from what I've read. Hopefully this will enable me to track a fault and get it fixed.

Forum Guidance Please
I'd be very grateful if somebody could throw some light on two things:
How do I search for a term such as 'oil consumption' or 'oil burning'? The forum search ignores 'oil' because it's too short a word.
Also, why is 6r/6c in the mark 9 category. My daughters polo is 6r - but is a mark 5?
Thanks.

I know it's a while back but people do search these things so, having just completed this job, I thought I'd throw my bit in.
