Well after trying, we discovered that the plug from the existing loom did not want to play and the one on the engine was the one that had everthing running sweet, strange that but hey, it works. All I have to do now is remove the old plug and tidy up the wiring.

Extra plug after fitting replacment engine

Help needed.
I fitted a replacement engine (1043) in my CL.
Came to connect all the plugs and found an extra one. On my original loom, the 4 pin plug that goes to one side of the SPI system came directly from the loom. When I went to plug it in I found one already in there, coming from the small ...

The story so far

The story so far. Was after this Polo after it was seen as not being used about a year ago, was told it was being kept for the ladies son. Out of the blue I geta phone call and she asked me if I was still interested. I said 'Yes, but why now? MOT failure, nothing serious, just a broken front spring ...

Well it's done now. Didn't just use GRP, rivetted in a sheet of 16 guage galvanised steel first, had to panel beat it a bit to get it to the right shape, Dum Dum sealer in between and then 2 layers of GRP with tar matting over the top just to finish it off.
One of the lads from the local garage ...

Battery tray

Hey everyone and a Brill New Year to you all.

Right, started work on the Mk3 I aquired just before Xmas, struggled to get battery out, seemed rather large, it was, bloody 55AHC for diesel no less, had to turn it on it's side to get it out. Anyway, it was duff, probably because all the electrolyte ...

David, I guess it will be OK to fit the smaller thickness discs, I'm planning to fit the Mk1 refurbished calipers anyway, that's if the mounting is the same so fitting the Mk1 discs should not be a problem.

What similarities are there.....

Between a Mk1 and an H reg Mk3? (is an H reg a Mk 3?)

I'm interested in the brakes and suspension. What parts are interchangable and what aren't.

Disks, front shocks and springs

Also what would be the cause of excessive brake pedal travel apart from the obvious air in the system?

Cheers

Any Scottish members.....

Going south in the near future. I'm needing to get an interior down to Norfolk way for a polo owner. It's a complete interior from a mark 1, including door cards, carpet and roof lining.
Anyone help, doesn't need to be in a oner but can be relayed down if thats easier.

Cheers

Ain't really watched that, but are there any details of how to apply, for my son , not for me I hasten to add. I'm more of a q-car street sleeper look myself.
