Re: Need part # for pedal box
Thanks for the replies guys. Glad to know the pedal box itself is cheap - I'll go pick it up now. I'm getting it installed @ 4hrs labour. Once fixed, the car's going up for sale.

Need part # for pedal box
I've got the dreaded pedal box problem. Car is 9yrs old, 65k on clock. Clutch pedal started creaking about 3 weeks ago and felt heavy. Gears have got progressively more difficult to select and today started grinding every time. I'm thinking the pedal box must have cracked. I've phoned my local TPS ...

Headlight reflector wobbly after changing bulb!
I had to change the main headlight bulb today. Once I removed the black cover from the back, I noticed the reflector was wobbly. I've read this is a common problem and that the adjuster has probably broken. Once I Clip the black cover back on it seems to hold the reflector steady again. I had not ...

Instructions for installing the window motor repair kit
I just found the VW service video that shows you how to do the job. It's on a mk4 but it's pretty much the same as the mk5 procedure. Make sure you download it and watch it (ignore the sound as it's in german) - it doesnt show you everything so also follow my instructions below:

Could be your pressure sensor
The oil pressure sensor switch is quite prone to going wrong. Not saying that this is your problem but it's a strong possibility.

pressure sender
OK, thanks for the replies, especially 'Ash'.
I've had a chance to look a bit closer and I 'think' I've found an oil pressure sender switch with a small oil leak. The switch in question is at the front of the engine to the right, just sticking out from underneath the plastic cover that sits on top ...

Oil light keeps coming on but oil level is fine.
My oil light has just started coming on. Usually comes on after about 10 mins of driving. I've checked the oil level and it's absolutely fine (from cold on level surface). It will go out every now and then but will always come back on again a few minutes later. The beeping is starting to get on my ...

Radiator fan is working!
Right, i've finally had time to look at this problem a little more.
Seems the radiator fan itself is actually working. If I turn the aircon on then the radiator fan comes on too (as I belive it should). If I remove the red fuse on the battery compartment, with the ignition off, then the fan comes ...

Overheating!
I've got a 1.4se 16v
A few weeks ago, on a very hot day, while sat in traffic, my temperature warning light came on. I checked the temperature dial and it was way into the red. I turned off the air-con, opened the windows and turned the hot air on full blast. It cooled the engine off quite quickly ...

Follow up and and end solution
The '6N3 998 801 A' repair kit DOES work for the MK5. I just repaired my passenger side window.
The teeth on the small spindle part of the cog get slightly bent and end up jamming when the window is fully up.
It's relatively easy to remove the regulator and motor to replace the cog and I urge ...
