Thanks for the tips guys. The problem was fuel pump failure, it was delivering barely a trickle.
Got my baby back, so I'm happy now.

Hi all,
I'm hoping someone else has experienced this problem and can throw some light on the mystery...
I have a 1998 MkIV 1.6 petrol, fuel injection, 5 speed (I imagine the MkIV in Australia is the same as the MkIV in the UK). Five days ago the idling became rough, then rougher. A day or so later ...
