Looks very good. I'm interested to know how easy the rear one is to mount? It looks like you have done a clean job of it.

Also, Is the driving feel noticably different afterwards?

Thanks Mate.

Not much help to you i know, but all Australian delivered GTI's come with a 5th full sized 16inch alloy wheel. I guess they realise it makes a selling point over here, i specifically avoided the swift sport because it had none. I have also heard the the Conti CS2's are puncture prone in the sidewalls.

Well, the polo GTI is 15mm lower than a polo TDi from the factory. As the pro-kit is the same springs for both models, you end up with a 15-20mm drop on the GTI and a 40mm drop on the TDi, same overall final height.

It doesnt look that low, 20mm is not a big drop. They feel firmer without a big ...

Hey, there. If you have a look at the Eibach website, the GTI and TDi are the same part codes.

They only lower the GTI 20mm cos its 15mm ...

1. Yes, apparently the engine is fitted with the K03s turbo. WIth the Oettinger/APR stage 1 chip it runs at about 1.05Bar (15psi) to make 190ish hp, still within the reliable operating limits of the turbo...or so im told ;)

2. I think so yes, provided the offset is ok... Im sure there are 9n owners ...

Im sure that coupled with the coilovers, the rear swaybar would make good sense, but i think that the standard gti's softish front end, combined with a stiff rear end would make things interesting on the grip limit...best to upgrade the front at the same time, or better still like jeff gti, get ...

Well, i took mine in to get the creaks/rattles sorted and it does seem much better...for now. My very creaky door seal is now silent thank god. Only issue is that the steering colmn surround is now loose, but thats not too hard to fix. Oh, and the fact that the service guy must have taken it for a ...

Ive got 4000km on mine now, and its got quite a number of rattles/creaks...not the one you are describing however. I am pretty dissatisfied in this regard so i have it booked in for the dealer to try and fix, tho, i think they will probably just make them worse.

I have a feeling it might have been recorded with the ESP on. Wheels magazine has recorded a best 0-100km/h (0-62mph) of 7.8sec, 0.4 under VW's claim, which would have been with the esp off.

FYI, the best 0-400 time they recorded was a 15.6 which isnt too bad for 110kw.

Mine's jammed 3 times in the 10 or so times its been used. The trick is to slide it out slowly and it shouldn't jamb. Its just hard to remember to tell that to the curious passengers (every one so far) that press it and let it fling out.

Thanks guys, i reckon white looks great too. I very much like the red, but i told my self never to own a red car again (It fades too much down here). I almost went for the dark blue, but is hard to keep looking clean and gets bloody hot.

Hi from another new GTi owner

Hi there,

New member for Aus just showing some pics of my 6 week old, freshly waxed GTi. I am pretty happy with the car so far, a definite step up in power and refinement from my old 323, though my verdict isnt out on the handling yet. Only dissapointment is a few rattles from the dashboard ...
