I just pull very hard and it releases.

Now when it happens I don't push the cup holder all the way in as this makes the rescue operation a little more difficult.
I just get my hand / fingernails - grab tightly and pull.


Have used my method 15 + times and it's not broken yet.

1st Post. Bought my wife a 55 plate 1.4 s 3dr back in Aug.
On looking around the car at the dealers I opened the cup holder and it broke ! Good start.
They replaced it. The replacement gets jammed after approx 10 uses.
It fails to retract fully. You give it a helping hand and hey presto it goes ...
