Unless you're buying these for cosmetic appeal - a complete waste of cash. The GTi brakes are responsive to the touch, braided hoses are a throwback to the past when brake servo's didn't exist and you had to really press the brakes hard. I think faulty HT leads would manifest itself in other ways, like chugging, spluttering and lumpy idle, even more so when it's raining. It sounds like your hot-start problem is more related to some kind of sensor. VAG COM diagnostics might be able to tell you more if you are determined to fix it you...
