If you run a/c in 'econ' mode it should get round this.
Believe it's a common problem. I have a feeling it's a damp pollen filter

That's pretty much it. The box is too weak to handle 125bhp, oil and additives won't really help. It's just a crap design. If your box goes and you get it properly reconditioned - ie. you get any bit replaced, main diff bearings etc - it should last you a fair number of thousand miles. I wouldn't re...

waste of money. I have one but I pay £22 a month for it - they can wriggle their way out of paying out on claims quite easily - and when you need it most - the gearbox - they won't pay out. Even if you do make a claim you'll still be paying around £60 to claim. It's a con. One of the clauses in th...

I wouldn't touch an alpha romeo with a barge pole. They look good, but that's where it stops. They depreciate like there's no tomorrow and reliabilty is shocking. In the Reliability Index, Alpha's highest position is 95 out of 100. That's pretty poor. Don't do it..... On another note, I have a Polo ...

What's that got to do with his headlghts? For the record I've completely changed my original post. If he wants to have super bright high-beams to allow him to bullet along country roads in the dark at 60mph+, then so be it. The boy racer culture is part of the reason I'm selling my GTi, too many pe...

There's a simple test for wether a clutch is gubbed or not. Engine running, car at standstill, clutch pressed down. Engage 4th gear and release the clutch. If the engine stalls, the clutch is fine. If the engine doesn't stall, your clutch has slipped. Often a pretty worn clucth will not slip, but th...

assuming you've used aerosol for this job. You can dry aerosol in about 10 minutes using a hairdryer, leave it to cure for at least an hour after that. Then rub out the run using 1200 grit paper (wet). You don't have to rub back to the primer, but since aerosol is so thin chances are you will easily...

update: Ace gearboxes sent a courier to collect the box they sent me (a week ago) . I'm still waiting on another box, the guy claims it's been sent out and is trying to find out what's going on. He told me that they couldn't find anything wrong with the first box he sent me, even though it whined li...
