Nah, VW wouldn't put it out on long life servicing if the car couldn't take it.

I've done 10k since January, all sorts of driving, and a track day, and it hasn't used a drop of oil :D

I've no worries about it at all.

Slightly off topic, but does anyone know how it is that you get the car to tell ...

I thought yours was new?

I don't expect to service mine till the 17k miles mark.

I'm assuming everyone's is on variable servicing?

Why don't you use your air con? I couldn't live with out it!

And I've also heard that it damages the system to not use it - so while I can't comment on your filter damaging the car, not using the AC could be.

Kenny,

Are you having it remapped by STAR?

I was under the impression that they sorted out the induction when they did the remap.

Saboy may be able to help?

What did you get out of the R32 out of interet?

An overall average of nearly 23 mpg :D

Although a spirited run wouldn't see more than 17 - 18

A long motorway journey would see 28 ish and a really careful drive at 60 mph on A roads could (could) see 30 mpg.

I never ever saw any better ...

GTI the whole way.

Before I got my R32, I had a Fabia vRS. The pd130 feels quick in isolation - and is very punchy through the gears - but it is not a performance engine - and never feels like one.

The Polo GTI is also noticeably, usefully quicker.

Oh, and one other thing - I was lucky to average ...

Hey Mark, forum's are the best way to waste time at work

No worries about the plate - I know these things can take time.

The car's still a riot (although we no longer mention the phrase R32 in this house - it hurts too much! :( ) which is the main thing.

It's a heap more fun, and ...

my polo turbo does the exact same thing, vw diagnosed it as water caught inside the fins from washing it as thats the only time it does it

water becomes held in the fins in the turbos oil cooler and in between this and the radiator

once engine gets hot it starts to heat it up until it turns to ...

Technical question ... help needed

Hi all,

Should I be worried that this morning and this afternoon when sitting in traffic there appears to be a small plume of steam coming out of my front grille?

For info, the temp gauge is fine, and the coolant level hasn't changed at all. The steam is not coming from the engine bay, it's from ...

hi there, welcome to the forums

Well, I collected it on Firday afternoon, and have a really busy weekend, so it's been well used.

I really miss my old r32 - but the Polo is a lot of fun - it feels plenty quick at the moment - and with only 1100 miles on the clock I thinking there will be wee bit ...

Hi Guys

I picked up my Polo yesterday about 12.30. Its fantastic!

Drove 57miles, but kept it in the garage today. (I don't want to wear it out). Although I think I'll have to go out tomorrow as I won't be able to resist it.

Its so nice to be back in a Polo.

 8) :D

Andy

LOL, I got ...

It's breaking my heart - but hey ho, been there done that - time to save a bit of cash for a few months and maybe get a MK5 R32 in time for next winter :)

Hello from another Polo GTI 1.8T owner

Well, not quite yet - pick it up on Wednesday the 31st January.

I currently drive a MK4 R32, but need to downsize / get a new car with new warranty and want to stay with VW so this little car fits the bill

The car is 3 months old and covered 1100 miles. It's silver, which wouldn't be my ...
