It depends on the finish of the wheels. Are they fully polished or just painted?

First wash the wheels with some non-acidic wheel cleaner, like this Mothers Wheel Mist for example or you can get some Meguires stuff.

If they are polished apply Belgom Alu next.

 nice wheels! i've got some 16x9 to fit, what tyres have you got on those 15s above?
they look wicked if only they were legal!

Cheers :D

I have 195/45 front and 214/40 rear at the moment. I might try to stretch some 195/45 on the rear and see if they will do the trick. Otherwise just ...

Just get 15s, can use the original tyres, brings the cost down. 8j will be ok with the car lowered by 35mm and won't stick out too far but fill the arches nicely.

Depends what you mean by sticking out and also how low you want to go.
I reckon 8j with 195/45 will be ok and legal.

See for yourself, 15x8j et20 on the back, tyres have a bit of stretch, when lowered the tread should be inside the arch. So et18 will stick out by another 2mm which is ok.

It's kids that are robbing them and putting on their bikes. Either put them locking caps on or just use black plastic ones if you dont want your nice caps to get robbed.

There is a few dents on the sideskirts so they are not totally in a bad way but I would prefer them to be straight. Replacing the sills sounds like a big job.

How complicated is it removing the sills then? Mine are not in the best shape as the previous owner must have rested the jack on them and I would like to get them fixed up or replaced altogether.

Some of the codes can be very old and the problem may be already fixed. Best thing is to clear all of them and if the problem appears again test with vagcom and go from there.
