I have actually done a deal on the Golf now (thanks to my dad revealing that he knew a guy within the particular dealer chain I visited :wink:). I got almost 4k trade-in on the Polo, and a 6-disc CD changer fitted to the Golf for nothing. I would have no doubt got ...

I've actually just got back from test driving a Golf GTI at my local VW dealer - it's a very nice car, but the trade-in price that they offered me for my Polo was just too low in my opinion.

I just paid the insurance on my current Polo last month, which was £300 fully-comp (Admiral). I've priced up the new Polo GTi with them, which came to £375, and the Golf was £450, so not a huge difference. And the tax is 'only' is a extra £40(?) a year.

Whichever car I get, it's highly unlikely ...
